I did go into East Berlin fairly often, under "flag orders." For sightseeing, shopping and official dinners with our uniformed Soviet counterparts, who remained by post-war treaty our military "allies" in what was still legally occupied Berlin from the WWII era. You should check your history.

But then in the late 1970s I was serving my country in uniform overseas under difficult circumstances, while you were doing what? Honing your radical right-wing skills? Looking after yourself to the exclusion of others, like most Republicans?

Your Communist East Berlin comment was a personal insult to those in military uniform and in our State Department there who did more than you apparently have ever done for your country, for all your hollow conservative rhetoric. I think you owe them all an apology.

My mom was at a tech school, the same one I'm going to now. My dad was serving in the US army stationed somewhere in Germany.

Actually my too funny comment was directed at JP's comment on your extraordinary brevity versus your 1979 locale. But you assume as usual and I think exaggerate about yourself. Yes, I was in East Berlin. And what you call my hollow conservative rhetoric is my championing of the free enterprise system. Were you so full of yourself even back then that you failed to notice the difference between Under den Linden and the Kudamm? How bout differences in neighborhoods between Pankow and Charlottenburg? Anyone who has seen evidence of the differences in economic systems and has your radical left wing ideology must be both blind and depraved, eh? Have you ever met with East Germans who had escaped to the West? Or tried to and were imprisoned until the fall of the DDR (that's East Germany, sweetheart). They included guys in their early 20s and they risked never seeing their families again to enjoy the free enterprise system that I champion. They couldn't even tell their families they were planning to escape because their family members would be interrogated by Stassi for 24 hours to see if they knew of the plans. If they did, they would go to prison. What do you champion, again?

Bottom line - I have been in uniform and in plain clothes serving the country. The difference is I generally keep quiet. And that benefits you as well, as I have not commented on your hot air. You can BS a lot of the guys here, but not everyone.

One of my cars is a Vette convertible. Except for the pipes, it looks completly stock, but has a different engine, supercharger, etc. It is a bad boy on the inside.

another hilarious response from art deco. The fact is, ART DECO---- you were hiding in the CLOSET back then. I was out and not pretending to fool the "allies". Your hiding in the closet for most of your life is a PERSONAL INSULT to me ! I've been out and being gay my entire adult life. You don't owe me an apology---just keep posting--- The laughs are worth it. icon_lol.gif

Partner and I had been together one year. We rented a house at the beach for a week, hit the disco every night, and on sunday made tea dance there then rushed back to DC to tea dance at the Lost and Found to show off our tans. Went to Tea every Sunday at the L&F, danced our asses off. Mine seems to have grown back.

Is this the current partner or a former one? If the current, I'm very impressed for sure...
