Okay, I know there's other postings regarding peep's dreams, but not so much as to interpret them. (and I had checked on google for the sites to do interpretations of dreams, yet none could really do the job) So, I thought I'd give RJ'ers a crack at it!

I dreamt that my right foot fell off, and then it was on a plate. lol And that I was ready to eat my foot. lol (sorry, it sounds ridiculous) Then I looked at where my foot was, and had an artificial one in its place.

The most I got out of the dream sites was basically that it might have to do with a change in life's path (that might be all there is to it, but I don't get why I was getting ready to dine on my foot?).

    Any thoughts are appreciated!

Maybe you're worried that you're self destructive, ie you're consuming yourself and limiting you're upward mobility? Either that or youre really into yourself and into feet too.

Do you have a habit of talking before thinking? "Putting your foot in your mouth," so 2 speak?

Or in a more Jungian sense, "the god has feet of clay." A sense that your weaknesses are overpowering you.

I would just go as far as to say that you probably have some deep-seated (or perhaps more obvious) insecurities... The foot thing, or specifics of the dream, tend to be more open to randomness. At least that's the case for me.

Losing a foot means a lack of progress, freedom or independence. Or that you've maybe taken a step in the wrong direction.

Have you recently made a decision that you're having some misgivings about?

It could be that the symbolism behind you "eating your foot" could be trying to stomach the decision you've made regardless of it being the wrong decision? (With the artificial foot being a forced replacement?)

Eating can mean trying to hold on to something you fear losing. Do you fear losing mobility or other physical activity?

I wonder what the artificial foot being there meant. Why was there no sense of pain... or horror... in looking down at your own foot on a plate. Rather, you wanted to eat your own foot?

I mean old school interpretation would probably involve some sort of self-directed aggression, self-defeating behaviors.... that you actually endorse (ie, you show agression towards yourself and have no issue with it - you are about to eat the foot).

Any other details you can recall?

I can't say I'm self destructive, but I do limit myself in the fact that I'm keeping my own self interests on hold as most of my time is helping my mom (she's disabled and has been diagnosed with cancer). As for my feet, they're not ugly! lol

All dreams mean that, one way or another.

    Or maybe just mine.

Well, I suppose anyone (especially me) could use more sex! icon_wink.gif

It could be the latter part. I always think before I speak, that's one of the many things my parents instilled in me. As for my weaknesses, I am trying to get my health in order...starting a new diet, trying to get my butt in gear, it's tough, but I haven't faltered (yet!).

Hmm, I do have a few of those (who doesn't!), but I try not to let them overwhelm me. I rarely get down on myself as I like being a happy person, but as I said previously, I'm really insecure in the fact that my mom's health is at stake. I'll have to ponder this more.

Dream interpretation is a relatively personal process. Personally, I don't think most dreams can be psychoanalyzed. Generally, they either tend to be non-sense or random parts from our day.

If the dream had a clear significance, say dreaming about an ex-boyfriend often, I think it might be more clear.

But unless you hurt your foot..

It's true that I do fear losing things, people in my life, as anyone would. My health isn't bad, but it could be better. I do like what you say about trying to hold onto something though.

Dream: You're going to have to make a sacrifice soon, it's not going to be something you want, but is something you need.

Artificial foot:You might feel like you're losing a part of yourself in the transition, but in the end you'll be okay. Look again, it is you, not artiface.

Well that was fun. When I have dreams like this, I usually wake up like WTF, and then forget them by the second cup of coffee. icon_lol.gif

It was totally nuts that I wasn 't horrified looking at my severed foot, but it was prepared nicely! lol I can recall my mom being next to me (no big surprise there! lol), and that the toenails were very tiny. And for the self destructive thought, I do tend to procrastinate...really trying to overcome that flaw. I also tend to sabotage myself when I set goals.

I think this hits the nail on the head. Your foot represents your path in life (as many have mentioned), and eating it can be closely related to your diet and nutrition. The fact that it's your right foot suggests that you are headed in the right direction. The artificial replacement also suggests that going in that direction may be difficult, but it will not harm you.

Something else you should think about is how you felt in the dream. Those feelings can be tied to whatever your dream is describing. Either content or anxiety can show how you are feeling in reality about your life. Alternatively, bad feelings in a dream can suggest that what you are doing is wrong, and the counter as well.

Don't know if you found this, but a site I love to use is http://www.dreammoods.com/dreamdictionary/. There are lots of different symbols defined, and while you don't always find something, there is a lot of truth to most of them.

There is no set dream interpretation mate. Different religions have different methods of dream interpretation. So depending on the religion you follow, you follow that dream interpretation. This is one of the Islamic dream interpretations:

Foot — The foot symbolizes a man’s style and wealth. The toes are his male children, his boys, his servants, and his maids or slaves.
    • One’s feet stretching upward or toward the sky till they are detached from the body: Two male children will die.
    • Seeing one or many toes taking off to the sky: Some of the dreamer’s boys, maidens, or slave girls will die.
    • Having hair on the toes: An overwhelming debt. Excessive hair means that the hero of such a dream will die in prison.
    • Committing adultery with one’s foot: The dreamer is in pursuit of illegitimate, unconventional, or perverse sexual practices.
    • Having many feet: (1) For a rich person, disease. (2) Will go blind. (3) Will go behind bars where the dreamer cannot walk freely or unaccompanied by a guard.
    • A foot turning into stone: The dreamer will lose such a foot.
    • Kicking the king or ruler: The dreamer will find in the street a coin with that person’s image on it.
    • Stepping on embers or live coal to extinguish it, then withdrawing one’s foot, then stepping again, and so on and so forth: The dreamer is a whimsical person and a fatalist or likes to talk about destiny.
    • The big toe having been cut off: (1) The dreamer will resume relations with someone or some folk. (2) The dreamer will lose a source of living.
    • The sole of the foot or the foot itself having been severed: Will be maimed.

Foot — In a dream, feet represent man's uprightness, for with them one stands erect. If anything happens to one's feet in a dream, it will reflect on his financial standing, work, toiling, his boss or his delegations. If one sees his feet pointing toward the heavens in a dream, it could denote the death of his child. If one's feet turn green, it means that he will suffer business losses. If one sees himself committing loathsome sexual acts with his feet in a dream, it means that he will pursue an unlawful sexual intercourse. Walking bear footed in a dream means toiling in life, difficulties and fatigue. If one sees himself eating the foot of another human being in a dream, it means that he will become a close friend with him, acquire his intercession, reap success from his connection, fulfill his needs, receive benefits in his travels, or if he qualifies, he may preside over a group of poor people or guide seamen to their catch. If he is a poor person, it means that his benefits to others are greater than if he were a rich person. If a rich man sees himself eating the foot of another person in a dream, it means illness, weakness or blindness. As for evildoers, eating someone's foot in a dream means imprisonment, sorrow and blame. If one sees one of his feet turning into a stone, it means that he will be deprived of its use. If one steps over a king or a ruler in a dream, it means that he will step over a coin of money that carries the figure of such a ruler. If one's foot is amputated in a dream, it means that he will loose half of his wealth. If both his feet are amputated in the dream, it means that he will lose all of his wealth, or that he may die shortly. One's feet in a dream also represent his parents or the leaders of the land. If one's foot is fractured in a dream, it means that he should not near the people of authorities for some days or he better leave town for sometime and pray for his safety. If a sick person sees his foot broken in a dream, it may mean his death. If one sees one of his feet longer than the other in a dream, it means that he will travel and profit from his journey, or receive the needed help during his journey. If he is rich, it means that he will become sick . If a poor person sees himself having four legs in a dream, it means that he will travel and receive help to accomplish his goals. A rich person in that case may get sick, or it could mean longevity. Walking on three feet in a dream means either that one will grow to be old, or that through an ailment, he will not die until he uses a cane to help him walk. If a ruler or a judge sees himself having many legs in a dream, it means that he has many helpers. If one's feet turn into iron in a dream, it means longevity and prosperity. If they turn into glass in a dream, it means that he will live a short life and suffer a debilitating illness. If they turn gold in the dream, it means that he will use them to seek a lost property or a desired wealth. If they turn silver in the dream, it means that he is a philanderer and he will live in poverty, for lust for women and wealth cannot exist together. If one's feet turn into led in the dream, it means that he may suffer from paralysis, unless if the dream contains other elements that denote actions which are pleasing to Allah Almighty. If one sees his foot without a covering skin in the dream, it means longevity. In a dream, one's toes represent good deeds. Experiencing foot pain in a dream means sins and punishment or repentance and endurance. (Also see Measure; Body; Leg; Thigh; Travels)

I guess shouldn't worry too much about this dream then, as I was feeling, not happy but, cheerful...weird (not feeling weird, but the cheerful feeling is).

That's a lot to digest! lol Many interesting things, but the ones that stood out (sorry for my silly puns) are the ones that I high-lighted. The first one could possibly say that I'm becoming more in tune with myself, and the second one would refer to my mom.
