And as soon as those small businesses enjoy the successes of your recommendation be sure to "occupy" and boycott them.

I boycotted the big box retailers on black Friday. Shopped local small businesses on Saturday.

Just another idea. Adopt a resident at your local Nursing home or from the senior center. They have lists of individuals who are home bound and can't meet their basic needs. Night gowns, house shoes, gloves, etc would make an awesome gift for these individuals in need.

The whole thing is quite silly when you think about it really.

Small business prior to becoming big business from success = good

Small business that turns into big business from success = bad

I suppose there is always that inherent assumption that if a small business finally DOES succeed and become a big business, they must have done it hurting someone.

You don't get it dude. The idea is to patronize the mom and pop stores in your local community instead of the corporate entities that are headquartered elsewhere. Small businesses that are locally owned and operated pump a greater percentage of money back into the local economy (instead of corporate entities that are headquartered elsewhere). Success in small business doesn't always result into becoming a large corporation. Some successful small business owners are content on keeping it simple because getting grand increases the amount of headaches you will get, the number of fires to fight, and the risk of failure. Keeping it simple and living modestly off your success is a recipe for a quality lifestyle for many small business owners.
