Since I'd love to have at least two kids myself someday, I wouldn't mind dating a guy that has a couple already.

It depends on how old they are. And by "they" I mean the kids, and the dad. If we're talking about a guy in his 30s who has a couple of young children, the answer is most definitely yes. If we're talking about a guy in his late 40s who has kids in high school or college, I probably wouldn't. I'd be friends with him, but I doubt I'd pursue a relationship.

Currently I don't think I'd date a guy who does have a kid because although I might be mature in some ways, I'm still too selfish to want someone who I'd have to share his time with children. I know it sounds horrible, but kids are demanding and really do need a lot of attention and care, and honestly I don't think the relationship would go anywhere. However, few years down the line, 9 or ten I don't think it would be such a big deal anymore, because the kids would most likely be much older, or even if they are still babies, I'd love to help out and raise them. Its just that right now I'm barely figuring myself out so how could I help raise someone else?

You, my friend, strike me as a genuinely "smart and mature" guy for your age (and please don't take the "for your age" as condescending.) Your statements show self-knowledge and self-awareness, which are much more indicative of maturity than statements such as "I want to date older guys because I'm much more mature than other guys my age."

    Here's to you:

Interesting. What possible difference could his kids' ages make?

Easier to develop a relationship with the kids when they're tiny? Idk.

I like kids but generally from afar or in small doses (no patience) >_> If the kids are tiny they better be well mannered..

Well, the kids' ages reflect the dad's age. I'd rather pursue a relationship with someone who is at the same stage of life as I am... I want, for example, to share with my partner the experience of raising a child. I want us to face the challenges of parenthood together. I don't think I want to go into a relationship with someone who has already been there, done that.

My boyfriend has two children. It's taken time and a lot of work to get rid of them.
