Evangelical Christian Mom Becomes an Unlikely Advocate

    awesome lady!

A few weeks ago, for example, Baldock used her Christian mom charm to sneak into the headquarters of the anti-gay public policy group Concerned Women for America. While inside, she chatted with an assistant to one of the heads and eventually steered the conversation to LGBT rights.

"It was about a 40-minute conversation and when it was over, because I told her really compelling stories about children and how policies affect them, this girl was wiping tears and when she stood up, she hugged me," she recalled.

Awesome lady yes...but its like killing a cockroach. Anti-gay conservative groups like Concerned Women for America spread misinformation and fear to get republicans elected to office. Do you really think the slanderous claims against gays contained in their reams of materials are fact checked in any way?????

This CWA worker may cry, feel guilty and quit CWA...but republican/christian operatives will have her job filled by another soldier, willing to make a buck from spreading lies and hatred.

The gov't needs to treat these groups like they treat neo-Nazis, KKK and other hate groups...i.e. IRS audits, FBI infiltration, etc.

true but this will never happen. Never. It's fine to hate in the USA if you claim Jesus told you to

If that's the case, then wouldn't you be better off fighting fire with fire?

"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." and all that jazz.

I wish it were that easy. These groups (American Family Association, Traditional Values Coalition, etc) are too savvy to get mired in some debate. Instead, they produce literature and videos with *statistics* showing that homosexuals...

-have hundreds, if not thousands of sexual partners
    -molest and recruit children
    -defecate into each others mouths
-have a average life span of 43 years old
    -etc, etc.

These statistics are voiced over a clip of a gay pride parade or protest. They may cut to Obama or Barney Frank or the Democratic convention showing how homosexuals have taken over the democratic party and eager to get at our military boys.

Then it cuts to a psychologist who claims homosexuals are mentally ill. Then to a doctor who says that most carry dangerous diseases...then finally to a "ex-gay" who confirms that he joined a church, prayed to Jesus, worked with a counselor...and finally over came his sickness and addiction to homosexuality.

Finally, its all wrapped up with appeals to stop the political agenda of the homosexuals...by joining some organization or getting out to vote...and always, to send money until it hurts.

    Sin is never mentioned...

"I ended up on the floor crying and being so sorry for all the prejudices I had. I realized that something was very wrong with my theology."

When they actually use their brains.. its always an "aha" moment like this!
