Secret Shame 2 - The Crappy Movie Chronicles

So we have a forum topic about horrible movies and a few of them are appreciated by others (Orgazmo for instance - Large Marge hurt my eyes and I felt brain cells committing suicide, but so many people love this movie). What movies do you like that you know are crap, but you can't help but loving/liking them or that you can't believe others don't like?

    My short list includes:
    Cannibal the Musical
    Team America
    Transformers
    Butch Camp
    Godzilla - Final Wars
    Voodoo Academy
    Soul Plane
A.I. (very well done imo, and had me crying for the last 45 min)
    Blacula
    Bio-Dome
    Little Nicky
    Proof of Life
    Reno 911! Miami

I know there are more, but I don't have my library in front of me. I did, however, consult my Netflix 5 star ratings list. (Not going to say which of the above were on it.)

I can't believe you actually sat through this dogfest of B movies and liked them!

Some people did not like "The Notebook" but my partner and I did. Very romantic. Other than that I can't think of any woofers that I actually liked. I am very fussy when it comes to movies and refuse to watch those that I think will stink the joint out.

Now you know I love me some Janet...but I have to be honest. Poetic Justic is not a good movie...but I can watching anytime for the simple fact that Janet is in it.

Another movie that is bad but I can watch it is

    The Sixth Man
    Latter Days

There is many more but I cant think of them right now.

LOL! With the exception of Transformers, my partner feels the same way.

What was wrong with Latter Days, gymguy1? icon_redface.gif

It should be illegal to put Transformers on that list. Blasphemy. What kind of child of the eighties are you? Bah!

As for my dirty movie secret...Eating Out.

Auryn, I like Latter Days. But you have to admit the acting is horrible and some of the dialog is cheesy. That said. I still watch it.

    Cannibal the Musical
    Team America

Ya know when you talk about "deal breakers with guys?"

If I ever met someone that said either of these movies were dumb I would question the intelligence of the guy.

Both of these movies were satire to the core....love them. With Cannibal, the actors themselves seem to not even believe the lines they are spewing....

How can you argue with this line of the musical

"I think I know precisely what I mean,
When I say its a shpadoinkle day!"

Orgazmo, however, is not my favorite work of these guys.

BUT....before I go on another tangent defending the South Park guys....here are mine...

TEEN WITCH (greatest bad movie EVER)
    BAD TASTE
    TOP GUN
Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift
    Toxic Avenger

can't think of any others right now....

I agree it's gawd awful....if they stuck to ROBOTS and not ruined it with the annoying PRODUCT PLACEMENT, BAD HUMAN DIALOGUE and STORYLINE, the LAME coming-of-age underlying plot and SHAKY CAMERA WORK (fuck YOU Michael Bay), it would have been great.

Plus no SOUNDWAVE, not enough Decepticons and I'm sorry PLEASE don't make Optimus Prime say "MY BAD" when he steps in the kid's garden.

I was stoked when I heard about it. I saw it in the theater and thought "That was better than I thought it would be." Then I tried watching it again and decided it was utter garbage...except for the parts that had ONLY robots in it...but even then due to Micahel Bay's directing it could have been so much better.

I know, but so many people have expressed disdain towards it. I didn't want to put AI or Soul Plane on there either, because I LOVED those movies. But for the sake of getting the thread started, I put them on the list.

*edit... I just saw Eating Out and am looking forward to the sequel. It's next on my Netflix queue.

AI should have ended about 20 minutes earlier than it did, when the little robot kid found the Blue Fairy.

Auryn, Eating Out was a guilt pleasure. It's the cinematic equivalent of the puppy that's so hideously ugly you can't help but think it's cute. It's really a horrid movie...I have no idea why I like it so much. Maybe it's because it's filmed in Tucson/Phoenix. Or maybe its Ryan Carnes and Jim Verraros. Hmmm...yeah. It's Jim Verraros.

Eating Out 2 was just a waste of time, save for Emily Hand and Rebecca Cochran being hysterical again. Q Allen Brocka, the director, did MUCH better with Boy Culture.

And atlnymasc...you misread me. I actually loved Transformers. The cheese factor of the dialogue just hearkened back to the supreme cheesiness of the original series, to me. As thoughtless summer movies go, I liked it.

I have so many guilty pleasures when it comes to movies but one of the reigning champs has to be Up Close & Personal starring Robert Redford and Michelle Pfeiffer as seasoned TV news reporters. I am never in a mood where I wouldn't watch that movie again.

There are nice couple minutes in the art class scene with Marco Dapper which can't be shown here

not saying it's the only reason to see it, but it's on the list.

You two just made me remember about Attack of the Killer Condoms; how evil of you. I think I need to watch Glitter just to cleanse my mind.

(Is it me or does anyone else find it interesting that StripperRocco knows so much about Glitter? Methinks he doth protest too much.) ;)

:44 - :51 seconds is one of my favorite lines. I think the all star cast makes it watchable. The story between the two main characters was kinda boring.
