Anyone on RJ playing beach volleyball this summer? I have not played in a few years but may start up again to get more fun exercise besides just softball.

I hope to be playing a bit. I live hours from the beach but we have some pretty decent outdoor courts. It's such a good way to stay fit in the sun!

Do you play 2 on 2 or do you have more on the sand court? Real beach volleyball (2 on 2) is fun but very demanding, especially in hot, humid weather.

Many of us from the competitive indoor club also play beach; of course in LA we play year round not just in the summer. I occasional play 4s or 6s at Venice and Will Rogers Beach with some good friends.

Yeah, I have been going down there lately to see if I can catch a game but have not played yet. The weather here was a disaster for wind the entire month of May, worst since 1984, so I am hoping for manaƱa.

I'm playing on a co-ed 4s league that just started last Thursday.
It was my first time on sand. icon_eek.gif

I had a great time - looking forward to a fun season!

I have to admit...I was a virgin till this summer...

with beach volleyball of course...goodness you homos..always thinkin about sex.

ANYWAYS hehe, I always told people i HATE beach. If you check out my profile you will see that I live for the game of volleyball. I wouldnt even step on a court if it was doubles.

And then one day my cherry was popped. I took part in the doubles tourny at montros beach, a pride event, and me and my partner took 6th in my first ever beach tourny.

I had one taste and now I can't get enough of it!

I grew up playing doubles on the beach. Unfortunately, my shoulder is pretty shot now including a torn labrum.

Miss it a lot even though I don't live at the beach any more. Doubles in the sand is a true test of an all around player.

Boston has some great grass play as well.
When I played in your NAGVA tournaments there I practiced with my team on the grass near Fenway Park.

Hey Phxariz08 do you play? My partner and I played with some guys from Minneapolis after our softball tournement was over July 6th. It was a lot of fun and great exercise.

i attempt to play beach, but well ok sand, i forgot i am in Colorado. we have lots of sand courts out here, it's fun, but it's so hot and well with no water it makes it hard to stay cool, imagine playing in a desert. That's what we do!! it's fun but i really just play to get some hops for court. We play doubles or 4v4, depends on how many we have.
