Has Obama ever had a real job?

When I look at how Herman Cain struggled for everything he has and lived the American Dream by being a hard worker, I started to wonder has Obama ever had a real job?

Did Obama ever mow the lawn or dig holes in his life?

Has Obama ever created a job or managed a business?

Has Obama ever done anything besides work for the government?

I think these questions explain his work ethic. Its very poor. Chris Matthews mentioned last week how Obama leaves work at 4:00. He is always flying around the world somewhere, usually on vacation. I think these questions also explain why he is so anti business.

Southbeach, as far as Obama being a College Newspaper Editor, that is not a real job.

I guess working with people in marginalized communities means nothing.

Obama went to college after which he worked for Business International Corporation (now part of The Economist). Obama then went to work as a community organizer (an actually really difficult and largely thankless job) first for NYPIRG and then for Developing Communities Project (DCP), a church-based community organization.

During his three years as the DCP's director, its staff grew from one to thirteen (I guess, he was a job creator after all!). He helped set up a job training program, a college preparatory tutoring program, and a tenants' rights organization in Altgeld Gardens. Obama also worked as a consultant and instructor for the Gamaliel Foundation, a community organizing institute.

In late 1988, Obama entered Harvard Law School. He was selected as an editor of the Harvard Law Review at the end of his first year, and president of the journal in his second year. During his summers, he returned to Chicago, where he worked as an associate at the law firms of Sidley Austin in 1989 and Hopkins & Sutter in 1990.

In 1991, Obama accepted a two-year position as Visiting Law and Government Fellow at the University of Chicago Law School to work on his first book. He then served as a professor at the University of Chicago Law School for twelve years—as a Lecturer from 1992 to 1996, and as a Senior Lecturer from 1996 to 2004—teaching constitutional law.

From April to October 1992, Obama directed Illinois's Project Vote, a voter registration drive with ten staffers and seven hundred volunteer registrars; it achieved its goal of registering 150,000 of 400,000 unregistered African Americans in the state, and led to Crain's Chicago Business naming Obama to its 1993 list of "40 under Forty" powers to be. In 1993 he joined Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland, a 13-attorney law firm specializing in civil rights litigation and neighborhood economic development, where he was an associate for three years from 1993 to 1996, then of counsel from 1996 to 2004.

He began his political career as state senator in Illinois while at Davis.

In other words, he's an extremely intelligent, hardworking and accomplishment self-made man.

Also what is with this meme, that Cain struggled for everything while implying that Obama had everything handed to him?

Because Cain bought into their paradigm and Obama didn't. It's not even so much racism as tribalism.

I work in Marketing and Sales for a coporation, but it really doesn't matter what I do, because I could be a bum for all you know. The difference is that I'm not stealing from hard working people.

The other difference is that I'm not running for President of the United States, so that was a stupid question to ask.

Your post suggests that Obama knows how to rape the taxpayers and take advantage of the poor. I'm asking has Obama ever done real work that would qualify him to be President? No one has come up with an answer.

If real job means profit making entities, the answer is no. Only possible exception is the Economist.

That would be correct. Cain has worked hard for everything he has and right now is dealing with racism from the media. The liberals are salivating at all of his problems. Why is it that liberals hate an African American that has worked hard and lived the American Dream? Cain is not the first one to be smeared.

What are you rambling about? Prior to political office, Obama's longest held position (for 11 years) was at a law firm.

Beyond that, you're nowhere near as accomplished as I am, let alone the president. Jealous, much?

Why don't you learn to read before making an ass out of yourself?

See post above on Obama's 11 years at Davis et al. Further, "real job" does not equal working at "profit making entity", unless you believe that being a police officer, fire fighter, teacher, doctor, nurse, etc. aren't real jobs.

I'm just saying that Obama has never really had a real job and thats what makes him so anti business. People who work for the government have no idea what its like to run a private corporation. I'm sure Obama is a nice guy, but he's just not cut out for the job. He also doesn't have a very good work ethic. Like Chris Matthews said last week, here he is "leaving work at 4:00" when the country is going down the tubes. He's always on a plane somewhere or taking some exotic vaction on the taxpayers dime. Theres just not much there to be admired.

Another case of Obama derangement syndrome. Do you realize how ridiculous you sound?

You start off with an easily disproved premise and then continually double down on it. It's just sad.

I find it very hard to believe that you work in marketing or finance, as both require a level of intelligence you've never displayed.

I think "a job training program, a college preparatory tutoring program, and a tenants' rights organization" all have value particularly to those who have jobs, went to school or still have their homes.

There are things more important and valuable in this world than money. icon_rolleyes.gif

Produces nothing. Sorry. Just because you train people to do a job, tutor them on any or thousands of subjects or tell people what their rights are as tenants produces no products.

Like I said. He has never had to meet a payroll.

+1 for being the example to the point I just made.

Christian73 saidObama went to college after which he worked for Business International Corporation (now part of The Economist).

What is it you do, again? icon_rolleyes.gif

What are you rambling about? Prior to political office, Obama's longest held position (for 11 years) was at a law firm.

Beyond that, you're nowhere near as accomplished as I am, let alone the president. Jealous, much?

Why don't you learn to read before making an ass out of yourself?

Wow Christian I'm sure your the guy everyone wants to be like, lol. I'm so jealous of you I cant stand it, hahahahahahahahahah.

Did Obama ever argue a case?

Most lawyers I know are garbage who just want to steal. Obama might just fit that description.

I just got back from a vacation in Napa Valley, California where I visited friends. I got to be around people who are hard working, pro business conservatives with character. Now I come back to this.

Another case of Obama derangement syndrome. Do you realize how ridiculous you sound?

You start off with an easily disproved premise and then continually double down on it. It's just sad.

I find it very hard to believe that you work in marketing or finance, as both require a level of intelligence you've never displayed.

Hahahaha. Well, my degree is in marketing and im going for a second degree in accounting starting in January. I've also worked in the stock market. I would say that 95% of the business people I know are Republican (and I've had this same conversation with them and they agree), so I guess we're all stupid.

Christian you just stick with all those "smart" Occupy people and see where that gets you in life.
