Very interesting article about the failures of some countries and the correlation with it's acceptance of homosexuality....

Well damn, that doesn't make us look too good, eh?

The beginning of the article about Russia is a bit misleading. The mass exodus out of Russia isn't due to religious fanaticism or homophobia. It's mainly educated and wealthy Russians who've been leaving the country knowing they're much more valuable in other countries and being able to keep their money (or being Jewish).

Meh. If you look at states or regions where homosexuality is pretty well accepted (Pacific NW, New England) They tend to have the highest quality of life in the country. While many southern and rust belt states, are on the other side of the spectrum.

I still think America is one of the best places to be if you are gay. It's far from perfect, but life in most places of the world for gays is HORRIBLE. I think our best days are to come...

I know the US is behind on LGBT equality, but I do agree that living here is better than living in many other places in the world. Besides, it seems the future of LGBT rights in Spain may go in the opposite direction thanks to the rise of Partido Popular and Mariano Rajoy icon_rolleyes.gif
