    I AM HEATED!
Something just happened to me on my way biking home from the gym.
Some dude in a silver ford car rolls right past screaming bullshit out the window at me. The last word (the only one I could make out) was 'FAGGOT!'. And it was yelled w/ EXTREME hate.
Oh, but this little bitch did not anticipate that he was in my hood and that guys on bikes can ignore the rules of traffic and (most of the time) get away w/ it.
So needless to say, I chased this guy down. He blew 2 red lights and then was trying to slow down so I could catch up then speed away.
I cut my losses. In my head I thought, 'Thnx' for giving me a major push to add to my workout asswipe' as I proudly displayed my middle finger for a full 30 seconds until he finally peeled out and hopefully got pulled over by a cop.

In all seriousness though, WHAT THE FUCK!!!
I kept thinking: Its 2008 people!! -Not too mention, BROAD DAYLIGHT on a Friday afternoon. And in the Gayborhood at that.
I was so enraged at the audacity of this guy that if I caught up w/ him I'm sure that I would have been arrested.
*sigh* Bitches would've gotten stiches and would've had to explain to people that he got them from a nelly guy like me! LOL!
I mean, this shit hasn't happened to me since I was in High School and I graduated from that about 9 years ago -Today actually!! (OMG I just realized that as I was typing this -WOW!!!)
    GRRRRRRRR.....

    What's w/ this???

He was just some hetero asswipe, using the "f" word to heap abuse on you. I wouldn't take it too personally some people have the brains of a komquat, not worth getting injured over.

Hope the rest of your day is better than this!

You're in Texas. I'm shocked that the description of his car didn't include a flatbed and a gun rack.

And what a coward, he was! You on a bike chasing him down is priceless though. Betcha he'll think twice before insulting another person he doesn't know.

Worse, if you'd caught up with him, he'd have likely asked to suck your dick. Those who yell the loudest....

I guess yr right at that.
When I was in HS I had a few close calls w/ glass bottles whizzing past my head.
Its truly sad when just going about yr daily business can be offensive to someone.
The funny thing is I really don't wear my sexuality on my sleeve.
I figure this guy just saw some skinny guy on a bike in the gayborhood of Montrose and thought he'd be a hard-ass. Sheesh!
This is the 1st homophobia I've felt since moving here this past February.
I know its Texas, but its a major city and in my experience people tend to be too busy to get caught up w/ others' bullshit.
    *sigh*
Off to work w/ me now; and you better believe on my bike ride there I'll be keeping my eyes opened!

I know that Houston is a major city, but perhaps you didn't sense the sarcasm. If Cheney can make a crack at West Virginia, I can mess with Texas. icon_twisted.gif

    That sounds extremely kinetic.

I am a native Texan so I am borned and entitled to say this. You live in Texas, and in Texas it is not, I repeat not 2008.

In my lifetime (I am a well enough preserved 44) on the outskirts of San Antonio I distinctly call a road sign that proudly declared

"Nigger don't let the sun set on you in this town". (I use the N word because that is what the sign actually said).

That was thirty years ago, not fifty, not sixty, not 100.

There is an Italian proverb that says "un uomo avvisato e un uomo mezzo salvato". That means a man who is informed is a man who is halfway saved. Better to be cautious than to be a vigilante.

If you caught up with that guy, beat the unholy crap out of him, and put him in the hospital (as he so richly deserved), you would go to jail, and he would be painted the victim, and you would end up in prison.

Honestly, crap like that happens every day.

You go gay boy!!! Chase that Mutha Fucker Down!!! :-) Be careful though. Ok?

Honestly, I'm sorry to read this happened. BUT I'm very proud of you for not holding your head down and running away. Don't let it get to you and cause you to do something stupid. Believe that some day it will all come full circle and Mr. ignorant fucked up chicken farmer will be faced with his own piss and venom. Never forget.. words have no power over you unless you allow them.

Ya gotta love the image of one pissed off gay guy on a bike chasing after some fucked up homophobe LOL.

I shouldn't share this to encourage this behavior but I was at a club in San Diego and watched a Drag Queen beat the holy hell out of some straight guy yelling the typical homophobic bullshit across the street. People kept warning him don't mess with the dragons but he wouldn't listen. She kicked his ass! They had to physically pry her off this guy. The guy was HUGE. She was probably all of 5ft 9. She was all flailing arms and legs like a crazy woman. I've wondered if he even dared to file against her? My guess is that his ego and the fact he kept provoking her wouldn't allow him.

You said it was/is a gay neighborhood? Perhaps he knew that and was just looking for a gay guy to harass for fun.
On the other hand straight guys will call another straight guy gay to insult them. It is for them a pretty big insult, so perhaps he was just out to harass whoever.
Either way the guys was an idiot. He was trying to get you angry and he did it.
You should have just laughed at him. That would have pissed him off.

Man, kinetic, I feel for ya. I know the extreme anger you felt was made all the worse for not having an appropriate outlet - namely this guy's face.

But good on ya for not feeling like a victim and being ready to fight back.

And let's all note for the record, it was the (no doubt closeted) homophobe in the security of his car yelling at a guy on a bike that's the real definition of coward.

So let that be a salve on your anger - he's the picture of pathetic.
