To dye or not to dye. Didn't mind the gray at my temples. Made me look distinguished icon_cool.gif. But now the little buggers are popping up all over my head, and that dog won't hunt.

So did you gracefully accept your ever expanding distinguish look? Or did you go dye job? And how well do those 'Just for Men' hair rinses work? Come on be a man and tell the truth.icon_wink.gif

I think that dye never looks good... Grey hair is natural and I think it's a large majority opinion that it doesn't look bad.

People start to look old when they start trying too hard not to look old.

I have colored mine a few times... my friend's wife generally pins me down and forces me to let her do it when we go on vacation together, but since I'm not "looking" and it doesnt' really go with my lifestyle to be that high-maintenance, I generally rock the gray. Mine is mostly in my sideburns and beard.

It's always funny to see people that you know are older and should be graying with a head/face full of non-gray hair. I don't see the problem with showing the gray. It looks hot!

I have had every color under the sun since I was 16.

As you get older, in general, you want to avoid very harsh extreme color (fire-engine red, jet black) as they tend to make you look older. That is not to say if you have the personal style you can't make it a "look" and be drop dead Hot. However most guys aren't really cut out for that.

Just For Men will guarantee that you look like you are uncomfortable with aging but are unwilling to spend more than $6.00 or 5 minutes to do anything about it. The color fades quickly (they are rinses) so in about 3 days you look like someone named Elmer who wears his pants around his chest and eats dinner at 4:30.

If you are going to do it - drop the bucks and go to the best Proffessional you can afford. Natural looking color usually involves more than one shade and custom blends. Expensive - but worth it!!

And always remember that grey is Hot to a lotta dudes!!!!!!

If it's true that you inherit your hair gene from you mother's father (have seen this multiple places but have no idea if it's true) I'm going to be closer to white, and very early, but not lose my hair, which is awesome to me. My grandfather's hair was snow white in his 30s, but we were still taking him for cuts every other week when he died at 82.

My hair is practically black, so I can only dye it so many colors without bleaching (which I never have). However, I've done all sorts of shades of red and brown during my teen years and early 20s. I haven't colored my hair in about 3 years because I don't feel like spending money on dye. Plus I feel too lazy to do it these days icon_rolleyes.gif

I've only discovered two gray hairs in the past few years. Nothing alarming yet, but I like to think I'll have a nice salt and pepper look eventually.

Good to know the distinguish look is ok (and even hot)

    @Cash...got it....strike through on non-pro dye jobs.

Wonder how I'd look in a shade of chatreuse ;)

The distinguished look looks hot on some guys, not on me, the moment I spot the first gray hair (if God loves maybe in at least 30 years haha), I'm fucking dying my hair.

    Don't dye!
    Just don't.

Most guys look really akward when they dye their hair. Plus a lot of guys look even better when they get great and it's a sign of dignity icon_smile.gif

Go Pro like the other guys have suggested, packet colours look nasty. Perhaps look into keeping the hair shorter. Salt & Pepper military cut.. hubba hubba!

My friend I don't think you'll need to worry about that for a long time. Truth be told though, when you get up to my age, with that beautiful complextion of yours, salt and peper temples will probably look sexy.

As a hair stylist I always talk my guys out of dying their hair. It always looks fake no matter what. What I do is a little camoflouging by painting in by hand some darker ash color that will blend and look toned down. It's just a handful or two of painted small streaks giving a blended look. icon_idea.gif

I think the salt-and-pepper look is really nice. I say don't dye it. I think a dye job looks fake anyway.

    +1

If you do color, use henna ... it won't giving you that thick paint in your hair feel and it is translucent so it looks more natural ... use the powder, not the crap that comes in a bottle

Man, the grey will look so good on you! Check out at how it looks on Romosexual, who is the 4th guy from the left on your "hot list". He looks phenomenal. And sexy.

Everyone has their own ideas about what looks good or not - on themselves and on others. But, as a previous poster said, it seems like the majority of men (and women, btw) like a handsome guy with some salt & pepper hair or full-on gray hair. You take great care of yourself, so you will not look 70 until you are 70 (or 80). Don't give yourself something else to pretend about.

I have light brown hair, and my white is white. It tends to look mousy. Sometimes I dye it and with Just For Men dark blonde, which (mostly) covers the white but doesn't do much to the brown, so it doesn't look fake.
