He was trying to post this:

"(CBS News) Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said America has come a long way in confronting racial inequality - but that America will never be 'race blind,' and that race and poverty in America is 'still a terrible witch's brew.' "

Is any country on earth color blind?

Is it just human nature to recognize differences? does human nature ever really change?

I dont think this is a strictly "US" phenomenon

While racism is obviously still very real here, it's already lightyears ahead of pretty much anywhere else in the world.

Heh, even within races themselves there are still plenty of divisions: urban vs rural, rich vs poor, general accent vs regional accent, educated vs not as educated, etc.

In the end, even if just one race of people existed, we'll always find ways to divide ourselves from others.

Not really sure what the OP's purpose is here other than to post yet another thread about race that could dissolve into a big flame war. It's true, racism will never completely disappear as long as there are different races that walk the earth. It's just human nature to recognize and react to people different than one's self, and it works in all directions among all races. I do think we have come a long way in terms of race relations. The only thing this video really did for me is to reaffirm yet once again what an amazing woman Conde Rice is. It's really too bad that she is out of government because she has to be one of the brightest and most likable women ever to serve the United States in an administration. I wish she would have run for President, or at least consider a V.P. spot, as I think she could be one of the best ever.

Hmmmm....I disagree with that. I've haven't heard of any current instance in Canada for example where a church barred an interracial couple from participating in worship. That just happened in your country.

There will always be regrettable but isolated incidents in which ignorant people do really shameful things related to race. This does need to be put in perspective though. This was the an action that resulted in the YES votes of a total of 9 people. It was hardly the whole congregation at the church, in fact, the majority of the congregation left in protest before the vote even took place. That said, let's not blow this incident out of proportion.

Yep. Some people can't figure out that it's why we have different countries in the first place. It's human nature to tend toward a feeling of "us vs them". "WE are gay, THEY are straight".

I wouldn't expect anything less from you. You subtly imply that the races should be separated, and hold Africa, the Middle East and Asia up as examples.

Asia and the Middle-East would agree with him by the way. I'll let you speak for Africa.

    But in Mock's defense:

Yeah, human nature is a mudderfugger.

Personally I wish more (straight) people would breed across racial and ethnic lines.

Mixed race people are among the hottest people around.
