Were SQUATS the culprit? I had something like this a while ago, I didn't have soreness, but a sorta groovy feeling in my knees I can't explain.I just took it very easy on them until the feeling went away and I still monitor them closely. My reaction to any weird feelings in my knee or back is to treat it like a growling Pit Bull: back off slowly until it is safe to RUN!!

GHoSTasour in the upper side of the knee ..
..

hmmm....perhaps putting a little sugar on it will make it a little "sweet"er instead of being a little "sour"...

I think the correct English word you wanted here was "SORE" ? Or is this a new internet word I missed learning in the last month or two?

Doc,

Cut the poor guy a break. American is probably not his first language (he's from Israel).

I'd have expected more from you. As a foreigner yourself, American is not your first language either!

Ghost saw this exercise in Austria Mix between a squat and lunge go into a tight sqaut feet a foot apart when there try to go 20 degrees both ways. 12 to 15 reps left right is one rep. Bar on shoulders when you build up Go lite will work the botton of thigh and the glutes. used by Austrain Ski team and they have great legs and Knees

Maybe deep tissue massage will help but you should get approval from a doctor first to make sure it's just chronic pain and nothing too serious.

A lot of warm up may help as well before lifting substantial weight.
