I have an image in my mind of a painting that depicts a man helping his bf/partner/husband tie a necktie. It kind of reminds me of Rockwell or Leyendecker's style, but I can't remember who it is to look it up. Can anyone here help?

I think you are referring to Steve Walker. He is a Canadian artist. I love him and my bedroom is decorated with his prints. There is a great gallery in Provincetown that displays his works if you are ever in that neighborhood. He actually has 2 works that look similar. Here is one of them.

Very nice. I will have to look at his work.

I like how he makes something so routine seem so intimate. Also that in the two works he cuts off the face or places the heads so you cant see them. I believe he wants the viewer to imagine that it could be them. I think he has to do one of shaving now.

Beautiful, vibrant, romantic. I liked the fact that the couple depicted on both paintings have clothes on! it's actually sexy, not vulgar. now i'm all for male nudes and all, but without a valid purpose, it can look superficial, tasteless, and tired. Mr. Walker's work is refeshing to see.icon_smile.gif

Yeah, most of his works do not show the subject's face. Actually, where he does show their face, it doesn't have as much impact. He does an amazing job of evoking emotion using body language. Here is my favorite...

Steve Walker's works are fantastic! The friendship and bonding in some of his other pieces are absolutely captivating and beautifully done.
