Is he being responsible about his usage? Does he seem like he's tending on the path of over/misuse of steroids that would be harmful for his body or other people? If not, then I don't see how it should matter.

I personally pride myself in achieving without roids but I don't see why you'd hold it against him as long as he's being smart and responsible about it or isn't using because he's too lazy to work hard for gains.

He should throw you back, you need a few more years of maturing.

Not everyone develops roid rage, just so you know - and if, used responsibly generally don't have to have any negative side effects.

I wouldn't freak out about it unless you think he might have a big problem with it, like 'roid rage.

On the one hand, you could argue that he's doing something illegal and harmful to himself. It could indicate a character flaw if he's will to risk his health just to muscle up.

On the other hand, it isn't a major crime, and it isn't like he's going to start robbing people to feed his habit.

There are long term health concerns, like heart damage and increased risks of certain types of cancer. If you have genuine concerns, then collect your thoughts, read up on the subject so that you can express your self coherently, and then sit down with him for a rational, drama-free discussion.

lol i think its a pretty reasonable concern.....are you even kidding me....and i know i told him i dont agree with it but im not going to judge him for doing it as long as he does it responsibly and i dont ever wanna see it...

Besides the damage to his liver, heart and other vital organs, remember that any muscles gained with the help of anabolic steroids are going to sag and look absolutely disgusting by the time he hits middle age. Case in point:

Maybe he just let himself go and didn't care anymore about maintaining a body like that. Also it is probably a lot harder for an older guy in his 60s to have a body like the one on the left.

There are many worries with steroids, this is a common one and often forgot about.

I wouldn't give him a chance in dating but you guys can be friends and stuff. I don't agree with taking roids either. At least I can honestly say that what I have was achieved by hard work , pain and a lot of time and dedication.

First: Steriods is a class of dreugs that share a similar structure but not activity, including cholsterol, vitamin D< estrogen, prednisone, hydrocortisone...and the one you guy are talking about: testosterone and its analogues. Second, get yourselves some basic educaiton onf testotsonerone use and politics. The documentary "Bigger Faster Stronger: Is it still cheating if everyone is doing it?" Third, yes the pics of Arnold are real, but this is a guy who wnet into polictics nad lots of daily mettings and stopped doing the training. Teststerone use has nothing ot do it. Any doubts, chekc out his contemporaries Lou Ferrigno (last seen in "I Love You Man" putting Jason Seigel in a choke hold) and Sylvester Stallone who are equally aged but still look excellent. Yes, there is a right way and a wrong way to use testoerone (or anything else) as a growth supplement, but used correctly it can be an excellent part of the growth and development arsenal, Used wrongly it cna permenantly ruin your own endocrine system and hinder your developmente/growth rather than help it. BUt as another poster stated earlier: stop believeing all the carp the mass emdia feed the mediclaly uneducated, it's a huge pile of unsubstantiatede crap. And, for the record, I am a multi-degreed medical professional and bodybilder, so this is my turn and I know it well. Want more details on this subject, just ask.

Rent or Stream the documentary - Bigger, Stronger, Faster
People use all sorts of enhancements to alter their appearance, teeth whitening, age reducing creams and serum, weight lifting boosters like jack 3d and L-argenine. Each of these can have negative effects when overly used or used incorrectly. Society has been conditioned to condemn steroid use. Steroids as a hormone are already used in countless medications to reduce inflammation. Hormone replacement therapy utilizes steroids. If used correctly, they can be used to enhance your physique. The long term damage that the daily intake of poor dietary nutrition and alcohol causes can be argued to be worse than occasional steroid use.

I think people who believe it is just fine to inject chemicals into their muscles (other than on prescription for a medical condition) are deluding themselves.
