So I'm getting a male black labrador puppy and can't think of a cool name haha.
I don't want an actual legitimate name e.g. Joseph etc, but I can't think of anything at the moment.
I'd appreciate any kind of suggestion.
Or do you think I should just wait til I pick up the pup and name him when I see him?

You don't want a people name.

Well, let's see then, how about
    Blackie?
    Fido?
    Pooch?
    Dawg?
    Murgatroyd?

that's the name of a special friend in my top drawer lol

We name our pets after places. Adelaide, after the city in South Australia, and Hatteras, after the lighthouse in North Carolina's Outer Banks. In the past we have considered Angkor, for the Angkor Wat temple complex in Cambodia, and Machu, for the ancient city of Machu Pichu in Peru.

Name him "Nigger" and then when someone calls you on it say it is your dog's name.

All of my dogs had a name from cartoons or games that I liked. Kael has a name after a charecter in World of Warcarft.

Nigel is my next pups name. I don't mind sharing cause its a bad ass name.icon_razz.gif

    Armis

(but don't use it without knowing its "geek-meaning"

(Armis was a manifestation of pure evil in an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation; it killed Lt Yar (played by Denise Crosbie) just for the sake of killing her without purpose.

It would be very ironic for a cute black puppy.

My friend's brother's kid is named Molybdenum. They call her Molly for now. I don't recommend it (the mother is batshit crazy).
