Your negative body image is borderline serious. It could turn into an eating disorder or psychological problem.

Perhaps you're just having a bad day. But maybe you need to think about getting help for your problem.

That is a crappy questionnaire. All those statements (every single one) are negative. It's completely one sided! No matter which or what you pick, the resulting score will be negative. I hate these stupid things.
They only make you feel all the more crappy.

You have a great body image. You know that no one looks perfect, and you're happy the way you are.

Also, you don't judge other people on their looks... and it helps them feel better about their own bodies!

The question is of self-criticism and how to change the negative things that you see into positve
If you have a negative body image
if you want to lose some weight
or if you want to gain some muscle

there are ways to accomplish these things
If you have the body of Matthew McConnaughy ans still think you look fat then maybe you can't be helped
but just sitting back and realizing that you have a negative body image is only the first step
what you do after that is really whats important

You're body image is quite healthy, though you're sometimes a little bit too hard on yourself.

Chances are you've got a rockin' body - so enjoy it!

This is a badly designed test to begin with. First, as DanteCA said: the questions are all negative. Secondly, there no real 'weighting' of the questions. Thirdly, some of the questions are redundant.
Lastly and very important, is that many of these questions require an absolute answer where there's no middle ground. It's like asking a question like "Would you rather make love to your mother or kill her." I realize that it's an absurd extreme, but you should get the point.
This is why I never liked the Meyers Briggs tests which is actually used by many companies. The test was made up by two people with no training and somehow became adopted as a valid test. I worked with a group of people that included several psychologists (experimental and clinical) who had pointed out the obvious and less obvious flaws with the Meyers Briggs tests when the entire department was required to take it.
I know, personally, that I don't have a great body image, but it's not pathological. I can be at the gym and see myself in the mirror and see that there's some improvement and then go home and see myself in the bathroom mirror and think "ech!"

It's really a horrible test. It'd be nice to have a couple of "On a scale from 1 to 10..." and I mean, "You know you would be happier if you just lost another 10 or 20 pounds." I'm happy now. I would probably be more confident if I lost another 20lb, and I'll hit my 40lb goal soon enough.

It might be nice to have something where selecting it reflects positive body image, because, I mean, fat people are lazy buggers. ;) (kidding, for anyone who isn't sure) Actually, people in general are lazy buggers.

Since I didn't agree with any of the statements in that quiz, I checked none of them. The resulting score:

Your Body Image is 0% Unhealthy, 100% Healthy

Like DanteCA I could not check any of the questions, mind you I couldn't care less about celebrities, and rarely stew about my body. I do have one goal, to get my weight to between 150 and 152 (I am 157 now), but I don't obsess about it. I just try and eat/drink healthy, and exercise every day.

Scored 88% healthy, but this was weight-driven. It did not apply to me. Should be on Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers websites.icon_rolleyes.gif

Having been obese for a long period of time in my life (I have lost over 170 pounds in the last four years) this is a pretty typical body image survey for someone who has an eating disorder. This really is not going to be that effective for people who are balanced in their health and/or do not or never have struggled with an eating disorder as some of us on the site have. If you think you might have an eating disorder you should speak with your doctor as this survey is over simple and gives you no way to combat your issues and improve on your health either physically or mentally. The one positive it does have is that it gives us a chance to discuss the issue and hopefully will help someone explore the issue more if it is a challenge in their life.

If there is anyone struggling with these issues send me a private message and I will do what I can to get you in the right direction. icon_smile.gif

Just as a side I scored 52% unhealthy which is a vast improvement for me.

"You may think you have a normal body image, but you definitely don't.
While you may not have a serious problem, you obsess over your looks way too much."
