"Oklahoma State won its conference outright. Alabama did not. Alabama had its shot against LSU and lost, despite having home-field advantage. Oklahoma State hasn't had that chance yet. Including Saturday's victory, Oklahoma State has beaten five current BCS top 25 teams: Oklahoma (10), Kansas State (11), Baylor (17), Texas (22) and Missouri (25). Alabama has defeated just two: Arkansas (icon_cool.gif and Penn State (22)."

Yes, a rematch is lame. OSU's only loss was on a short week, right after a few people in their athletic department died, very tough circumstances.

Would rather see that than 'bama... but Alabama is no less deserving.... I have an idea, how about a playoff system?

OSU lost at home to an unranked team. Stanford lost at home to a very good Oregon Team. Why not Stanford?

OSU lost on the road after a plane accident had killed the women's basketball coach and the campus was distraught.

Stanford got destroyed by Oregon in Palo Alto and didn't win its conference.

Oklahoma State should definitely be in the BCS title game. Go Big XII!

because a pac-12 team (aside from usc, and even then...) will never have the love of east coast sports writers

I agree. I think that if you do not at least win your conference then you should not be eligible to play for the BCS championship. I also think that if you did not play in your conference championship game, then you should not go to a BCS bowl game over the teams that did.

what does conference championship have to do with anything? it's which team will draw the biggest audience rating.

Just wondering, how many people other than LSU or Bama fans would actually enjoy watching a Tiger-Tide rematch?

Yes. I believe that Alabama had their chance to beat LSU, AT HOME and lost. OKSU's record is no less impressive than Alabama's although, truthfully, Bama would probably beat OKSU.

I don't want to see a rematch and think it would be unfair to LSU to have to beat Bama twice in order to win the National Championship. Ok. State deserves the chance.

I was all for an Alabama/LSU rematch as I felt they were the best two teams, but now I'm not so sure. I'd still give a sliiiiiight edge to Alabama, since they play in what is by far the hardest conference in college football, and their only loss was in overtime, by three points, to the best team in the country...whereas OK State's loss was to...Iowa State. I can absolutely see the argument for Oklahoma State getting a shot though, where I couldn't have a few days ago. I'm interested to see what happens.

haha. Seriously, you guys should win by default given all the ranked teams you've beaten at home, on the road and in "neutral" sites this year.

Oops.. you're right, they did lose on the road... to an UNRANKED team! Iowa State? Seriously? They went 3-6 in conference... 3 and freakin' SIX....

    Puhlease..

I forgive you because you are handsome.

Yeah, Iowa State is unranked, but does a team's one loss comparison outweigh a comparison of the wins it had during the year? Oklahoma State beat five ranked teams. How many did Stanford beat? Oklahoma State won it's conference. Stanford didn't. 8 out of the 10 teams - including Iowa State - are bowl eligible from the Big XII. How many are eligible from the Pac?

Advantage Oklahoma State, in my opinion.

I would think so.... many K-State fans think that they should be as well, but
certainly Okie State... and based on the performance yesterday... I think so!

    Stanford's bowl ineligible.

i think LSU's defense against OSU's offense would make 4 some excitiing ball. plus u get 2 conferences respresented. kinda bored with the SEC.

    USC is ineligible. Not Stanford.

Pac 12... two BCS games this year... not a sucky conference. Maybe Mac Brown will go on TV and cry himself into a bowl game again.

Absolutely.....the fact that Stanford is not in the conversation is ludicrous.

Also, most of the teams in the Pac 12 north had to play three top 10 teams (if they had USC this year) and two other teams in the top 20 (when they played them). That had to be one of the toughest conference "roads" to travel, despite the SEC and Big 12 love that most pundits have.
