The countdown is on - for the days left until Christmas and until your credit card has maxed out. This time of year can be stressful and challenging.

What do you do to cheer yourself up, stay away from spending too much money, and keep in mind what the holiday season is really about?

Send out nice Christmas cards rather than gifts, or if you want to buy something for that special person, maybe a basket of fruit. If you want to get into the Spirit, attend Chrismas concerts at a local church and go to church if you don't currently attend. Do something nice for someone.

I should learn to bake something new this season...that'd probably give me something to preoccupy myself with.

It's hard to not feel despondent this time of year...at least for me. icon_sad.gif

I'm cheerful by remembering what this time of year is about, in its christian, Jewish, pagan, atheist etc references and simply don't spend too much money, as small and personal trumps big and flashy. icon_wink.gif
