It's sort of ridiculous the number of nutty people who think there's widespread fraud in American elections by people like Diebold in perspective - especially considering how difficult it is to keep these things secret. Of course consider what happens when there really is widespread fraud -

Russian physicist Sergey Shpilkin managed to statistically analyze the results of the Russian Parliamentary elections, identify fraudulent component, and deduct it, to come up with the estimates of untainted results: Putin’s United Russia got 34%, not 51% as officially reported.

all elections are fraudulent up 2 a pt. i think the more important pt 4 next yr's Russian presidential election is this:

"Pragmatically, the loss of seats in the State Duma appears to mean little because two of the three other parties winning seats have been reliable supporters of government legislation.

Nevertheless, it was a substantial symbolic blow to a party that had become virtually indistinguishable from the state itself.

The result has also energized the opposition and poses a humbling challenge to Putin, the country's dominant figure, in his drive to return to the presidency."

i have even read some op eds stating this may be the beginning of the "Russian Spring." should be interesting 2 watch. i do think that the US needs 2 stay out of Russian politics. let the EU handle this 1.
