Have a pseudo intellectual debate on the definitions and use of these.
    Do you court someone?
When do or when are you "dating?"
What says exclusivity, We are dating! or We are going out!
    Just curious on thought?

Intention of being intimate (non-sexual..for now) and meeting up multiple times - considered "dating".

Friend of mine in a LTR said if you want to date/be in a relationship then don't fuck when you first meet up. With a few exceptions (as with anything) I thought this to be true and being one not to hook up - hate an easy lay - I stuck to being affectionate/intimate without going all the way.

If two gents say they're dating, I automatically assume they're monogamous.

As not all guys date exclusively, I ask on the 2nd or 3rd time "so...what we're doing I only do with you, are you...?" and that gets the message across quite well.

I'm all for direct questions. So I flat out say, "I'd like to be exclusive. Are you interested in the same thing?" If It's a yes, then we continue to date. If not, then I usually just let them go. Initially, I don't mind if they're going on dates with other guys too (as long as they're not physical with them), but once I want exclusivity they're either on board or not.

As far as telling other people, I use "going out" and "dating" synonymously. If I mean to imply that there is exclusivity, I say we are "exclusively dating"

Courting = Saying "sup" on Grindr.
Dating = Agreeing to meet for sex.
    Going out = Sex.

All of the above takes place in less than an hour in my preferred scenario.

LOL I did not know people still used the word courting. ha ha ha That is too funny.
When do or when are you dating? I say you are dating when someone says I would like to date you exclusively. Until than you two are just sex buddies if you are having sex.

I've always thought of "courting" as "trying to get someone's attention so that you may date them"; "dating" as "doing fun, not-necessarily-sexual, things together so that you can get to know each other"; and "going out" as "I'm not dating anybody else".
