Bars, but also gay sports leagues, doctors, lawyers, financial advisers, etc.

I know right. I posted a thread a week ago asking a similar question. Also got no responses. I just moved to Chicago a few months ago but haven't had a chance yet to explore it.

Check out CMSA for sports leagues...Crew is fun for a sports bar, but like every other city, it depends on the people you like to hang out with....check out one of the local gay magazines which can give you a quick run down on each. As for the professionals? None of mine are gay so don't know...

So that's. Two votes for Crew, but nothing else?

For sports go to CMSA.org for links to all the organized ones in the association. Also, you need to specify what area you're more likely to frequent in regards to which bars to go to.

Crew's alright. I think it's overpriced and that it tries too hard to come off as "straight gay bar." If you want to go to a bar in Uptown, I suggest Big Chicks. Dollar burger Monday's, y'all. Bartender Stu is super nice.

@OP I can only attest to the bars part of your question, and really, my answer is kind of one-sided because I frequent bars mostly only for karaoke.
Monday: Roscoe's. Live band karaoke is the shit.
Tuesday: Charlie's! They have karaoke to 4am - and $10 pitchers.
Friday/Saturday: Bobby Love's. Great selection, and I often find myself singing here 'til 2 and then walk through the alley to Charlie's to dance 'til 4. Weekends are fun.

Karaoke nights are an easy way to break the ice. Ask a guy that's rifling through the songbook what he's thinking of singing. Compliment a guy that sings a song you like - and if you've got the balls, ask if he'd like to do a duet.

I saw this thread and meant to reply...but forgot. Will do right after this!
