I'm curious about how other guys train when it comes to weights.

personally when i train i increase the weights i use per set, eg when benching, i'll increase the weight by 5kgs each set until i'm pretty sure i won't be able to push the weight since i don't have a gym partner i don't want the bar to fall on me.

i've noticed other guys at the gym start off with heavier weights and then decrease the weight per set.

which of these two methods is best in order to develop bigger and stronger muscles?

I do it both ways, but I always do higher reps with lower weights.

I typically start light and add 10lbs each set. On the 3rd set I frequently do a superset (add weight without any rest) ... but these are often fewer reps as the weight gets heavier.

There really isn't a wrong or right answer. What works for you may or may not work for someone else. For example, my old workout partner use to love doing lower reps with extremely heavy weight. Now, I still got bigger but for the type of muscle mass that I wanted I had to do do higher reps with slightly heavy weight. I usually do about 60 to 70 percent of max. then I would increase on my last two sets. Again, you have to decide what works for you.
