What the heck was that that transpired yesterday?

I'm not even a Laker fan, but they got a raw deal from their league-owners last night.

I'm from Houston and I'm a huge LA fan so yesterday was a little strange for me.

From a Houston stand point I don't understand what the point of the trade was. Pau Gasol, in my opinion, isn't worth losing you're three best players.

As for the Lakers, it would have been nice to have Paul.. but at the cost of Odom and Gasol? I'm not too sure.

I don't understand the league stopping this trade. The Hornets would of gotten some good players in Kevin Martin, Luis Scola, and Gorden Dragic. I also don't understand why Houston wanted to be involved in the deal. As someone else said Gasol isn't worth losing your three best players.

The original trade would only make sense, if they were certain to get Dwight Howard or a good PF. Either way, the Lakers screwed the pooch by trading LO to Dallas for basically a maxi pad and trail mix. They must be trying to angle themselves for a good draft pick. Houston would have gotten an upgrade in the front court and NO would have Lamar's underrated talent guiding them for a while. Either way, the league vetoing the trade (because the owners have a a say so - thanks Dan Gilbert) was certainly weird. Don't look now though, the Knicks just got Tyson Chandler...
