I was quite surprised when I read this. Ron Paul's Iowa campaign director, Michael Heath, is well known and hated by many in Maine (my home state). He's viewed as an extremist by many including those on the Right. I can't believe Paul is aligned with him.

"Paul has brought several Christian conservatives onto his campaign in an ambitious effort to reach believers for his cause. Michael Heath, the campaign's Iowa director, previously worked for a New England-based group called the Christian Civic League of Maine that fought against adding sexual orientation to the state's Human Rights Act."

It's politics. Many of the other candidates have done worse.

Don't play that game with them, it's a diversion.

There's nothing wrong with RP having "christian conservatives" on his team. I'm pretty sure Ron Paul has vetted this man, and sees that he has the criteria/talents to play a role in this. You may not know/realize/believe this but...Ron Paul's support is widespread. It may not be clustered into one demographic, but from a strategical standpoint, that's better. There's enough supporters in nearly every single demographic in our country...to cause an outbreak.

Bring on the Second American Revolution.

I don't think that I can trust Ron Paul anymore since he has aligned himself with the religious, right wing extremists.

Then maybe you should read American Revolution? Maybe perhaps research his votes as an elected official? If you think Ron Paul is meandering to the religious right wing extremists then you don't know Ron Paul.

    Yes yes of course.... icon_sad.gificon_wink.gif

I just wish he wouldn't pander to the religious right at all. I kind of expected more from him. His views on abortion aren't aligned with libertarianism either, but nowadays, to be elected as a republican (especially in Texas) one has to be in favor of over-turning Roe v. Wade. I respect Paul a lot--I'd probably never vote for him though because of a few of his opinions, but he is, nonetheless, very impressive.

This guy Michael Heath though is a total fascist asshole.
