I just started looking for housing in SF 2 weeks ago and it's getting pretty discouraging. I've never seen a more competitive roommate search. Anyone with similar experiences have any tips? I've only been using Craigslist so far, but there has to be a better way.

My suggestion, put up a posting, check it every day, and yes it is crazy competative but can pay off. I currently pay 750 a month in rent in SF and I only have one roommate (love you rent control!)

I tried this it doesnt work. In fact, the LGBT center encourages you to use Craigslist. -

Roommate or studio? You should be able to find a studio in that range. -
