I wasn't there on a gay holiday, but Madrid was fantastic... and very VERY accepting.

I wasn't there on a gay holiday either but I've found Amsterdam to be VERY friendly towards gays.

I have been out of oz a number of times. Sometime for 6 to 8 weeks at a time. Yet I have never had sex outside of Oz.

Thus One has never been on a gay holiday, just holidays. I have always been treated well!

Gees all One has to do is go to St Kilda, or Sth Yarra, if I need to be around gay/bi men on mass. But I don't feel the need. But somewhere over the rainbow.

Right... Oz, I forgot about my time in Sydney. Well, its not shocking that I forgot, I was in Kings Cross. Oops, I think I said too much. icon_twisted.gif

Here are just four of my favorite "gay" cities where a guy can have a great time and feel totally accepted:

Barcelona...Barri Gotic, Quadrat d'Or & Calle de San Bonnaventura = cool places to hit.

London...Brighton, Knightsbridge, Chelsea, Bond Street are some of my favorite places.

Berlin...Nollendorfplatz, Schoneberg, Friedrichshain are gay friendly places to hang out.

San Francisco...All over the city, but especially Polk Street, Russian Hill, Marina Green, Union Street and the Castro - for a start!

LOL. well yes we do have Kings cross too. But that's only if I want to go past ST Kilda, and keep going to Sydney.

London, you can not beat it. Very nice, very cultured and friendly...little high price wise.
You can take a simple trip to Scotland for very little...a two day trip is well worth it.

I'm surprised no one has said Thailand yet, Bangkok especially. It is one of the most gay friendly destinations you'll ever see. Not only that but you'll meet some of the nicest, most friendly people ever. I love Thailand.

Just make sure you know how to navigate the developing world. Then again Thailand is a good introduction to the developing world.

Thailand is well developed compared to some of the places I've been. I would actually consider it post-developing. It's not first world yet in most parts, but Bangkok is pretty close.

Global: Exactly... the perfect place for a newbie to get out of the wealthy world.. I've been to some pretty messed up places (I work for USAID- 'nuf said) too, and always have to remind myself that Bangkok is a big jump for many people.
