A gay Vietnam veteran in New Hampshire questioned Romney about the state's law allowing gay marriage. Romney said he would work to repeal it and that gay veterans should not be entitled to medical or burial benefits that straight couples get. The veteran was not happy. “It’s good to know how you feel,” he said. “That you do not believe that everyone is entitled to their constitutional rights.”

Interestingly, this is yet another issue Romney has completely flip-flopped on. In 1994 he said he believed gay marriage was a state issue.

the old people had a saying: give him enough rope and he'll hang himself. I think that applies here.
