A day in the life, Installment 3 - Our planned Crystal Cruise

As noted below, this is a fictional story and does not represent a real-life first person narrative by the OP.

My partner and I decided to take a cruise. We decided on the upper-tier Crystal Lines. It is almost double the fare of the other lines, but offers pampering in a class of its own. We're entitled to that, aren't we?

We did consider the Atlantis gay cruises. I always support gay businesses whenever possible, but we decided the Crystal was more sedate in keeping with guys our age. I must admit I did enjoy the photos posted last year by that right-wing "curious" agent. Thank goodness he's been exposed, don't ya think? The only thing curious is how he and the others think they can get away with their conspiracies when so many of the RJ members are so much smarter than them. Their playbook did not prepare them for us on RJ, and it's funny how the Conservaposse always uses the same terms, parroting one another. I think the photos were real, but I have doubts if a right-winger who despises gays could stand being on board a ship with a few thousand of them. I had my doubts, wondering if he might have photoshopped himself into the photos. I showed them to Izzy, the chief photo editor of the condo association newsletter, who is an expert on photography. He said it was possible that they were photoshopped. Ah ha! The evidence is damning! Based on information I have received, those guys will post messages like that to ingratiate themselves with the gay community to hide their sinister motives. Anyway, I looked at those guys on deck, and could see myself there. Sure, I've put on a few pounds, who hasn't? Back in my day when I achieved the highest score on the PT test in the whole Army, they called me Rock Hard Bob, or just Rock for short. The enlisted guys called me Rock, Sir. I'd have no problems fitting into the gay scene on deck. I'd just have to find some speedos with a bit of a gentleman's stretch. No way could my partner fit in. He'd just have to stay in the stateroom by himself reading. I'd bring along plenty of reading material for him. I'm very considerate that way.

But as tempting as me strutting around in speedos is, we decided on Crystal, a premium 6 Star Cruise line. We considered the Oceania line, considered 5 1/2 Stars. They don't require formal dress, calling their approach county club casual. But I am most comfortable wearing a tux for dinner, based upon my breeding and exposure to the highest echelons of society. Furthermore, I was also concerned that the Oceania lines, being not as expensive, would have a nouveau riche element, consisting largely of selfish Republicans. What else could it be? Selfish and Republican are synonymous, don't ya think? I'm expecting the passengers on the Crystal to be of old money, making them generous Democrats. People who care about their fellow man. People who share my taste in the premium wines, not the garbage that Mr. Joe Average drinks. I can't wait to get "Crystalized", the term that describes the upper echelon that gets used to Crystal and will never again cruise any lesser line.

So now the task at hand is to create a booking plan on-line, consisting of our personal data including Passport information. My partner is totally helpless at such things and depends on me to handle it all. He doesn't even know the difference between a keyboard and a mouse. That's ok. Bob is used to doing everything for everyone else, even if I neglect to handle all the details for myself. That's just the kind of person I am, always looking out for everyone else ahead of myself.

I have no problems writing a check to cover the entire cruise costs for both my partner and myself, but decided it would be more prudent to open up a Vacation Club account at the bank to enforce some savings from our pensions. I always enjoy going to the bank, especially when Scottie, that handsome 30 year old is working. I left the partner at home, deliberately. Scottie looked at me with that special twinkle in his eyes. Lewd and lascivious thoughts went through my mind. Scottie definitely seemed interested, and I felt myself getting excited, if you know what I mean. Scottie must have been disappointed that I was already taken when he helped arrange that group photo of partner and me on our Debit Card. Well, I had to remain true to my partner, so I put such thoughts out of my mind and concentrated on opening up the Vacation Club account. As I was leaving the bank, I noticed Scottie looking at me longingly out of the corner of his eyes, but the youth must wait.

So now I'm eagerly awaiting sail date, and promise to provide you a detailed description of our activities on an hourly basis and maybe even a photo or two. As for cruise photos, I won't be outdone by that "curious" right-wing homophobic agent. Even on the sedate Crystal line, I'm betting there'll be a few hot studs on board just like I was only a couple of years ago. They will undoubtedly be unable to keep their hands off me, and the "horse play" could get a bit rough. And if I do get a bit banged up, in more ways than one, fear not. These old bones can take a beating, but I will get a medical check-up on board just to be safe. Just let the doctors try and tell me to take it easy. Doctor's orders? Ha- no one orders me around. I'll make sure to remind 'em that my ship fare pays their salary. They work for me and better know their proper place. I know best. Just to prove my status, I'll be sure to post very frequent urine and stool sample reports. I have asked the Admin to create a special folder on the Forum for this purpose. I think he will oblige. In the past there had been discussion by a number of RJ guys to create a News & Politics folder. My suggestion was the one that made it happen, and the Admin even used the words from my letter in describing the new folder.

    Stay tuned for more.

Didn't know, but I'm sure he'll be back soon. But is it possible he hid himself for the attention and drama, and said he was booted?

Arty booted? SHOCKER! Maybe it was for being an utter pain in the ass to the admins with his incessant whining to them. My feeling is that IF Arty got booted, then it was probably for his own good. He should be focusing on his health, and clearly this site was a source of stress for him -- mostly of his own doing.

My obsession is humor. When self-indulgent, pompous buffoonery comes along, ignoring the potential humor would be wasteful. It is quite mild, similar to a Saturday Night Live skit. Creative humorous writing, even if some don't see or appreciate the humor, is a worthwhile pursuit.

Please... Your attempts to put lipstick on the pig that is your mean spirited "humor" posts is both transparent and pathetic.

It does reinforce why there are no famous right-wing comedians.

Well now that you brought up the subject of comedians, if being a democrat is such a fun and positive way to go, why are you so angry all of the time?

I'm not angry all the time. I think you're confusing mocking derision with anger.

I don't know about any "sting operation" but your comments are insulting the Admin of this site, who I think goes overboard in trying to be fair. You are suggesting the Admin just blindly reacts if a few members contact him. Never seen evidence of that. Certainly he can't notice everything and people, whether it be 1 or say 5, bringing something to his attention can make a difference. But to suggest he would act automatically is not consistent with what I have observed.

I think both you guys owe the Admin an apology for your disrespectful implications. I know he prefers to not discuss individual issues such as this, so he would not respond, but it must be annoying to him to read comments such as yours.

There are days that I think you are an "Art Dingbat in training" you post such preposterous, paranoid things.

As for Art Ding-a-ling getting banned, it was all of his own doing. No "plot" involved whatsoever.

If you don't believe it, try it yourself: Go ahead and copy and paste my adam4adam profile here on RJ. You'll be suspended/banned within a day or so.

And with regards to the "elderly veteran with cancer..." Sorry, but if he's going to launch attacks on particular RJ members out of the blue, those RJ members will reply in kind most of the time.

Your A4A profile was most interesting in the "honesty" department. icon_wink.gif

Your "little Nell from the country" routine exceeds John's Mother Superior one in being both cynical and hilarious. I've been on here for quite a while now and you are one of the first "launch attacks out of the blue" and you've been mixing it up with Art the entire time I've been here.

Re: A4A. You started that shit first by posting OtterJock's back in the day, so lose the victim act.

Finally, Art and I had a disagreement about a week ago, when he wrote something I found offensive. I said so. He reached out to me and apologized and I let it go.

Having lost family members to cancer, having lost my mother very suddenly last year, and having an uncle who is currently losing his battle with prostate cancer, I give the benefit of the doubt to someone in Art's shoes and give him latitude in being grumpy or distraught.

    What's your excuse?

    That's correct.
And apparently lacking in those who pompously speak like they are full of both, but don't demonstrate it. Respect and class would have prevented topics like this one from ever beginning.

...and speaking of, Socal, take a look at http://www.realjock.com/gayforums/2034812 where your comrade Frosted is posting stuff from an ac profile on another site.

Ah, the cries of outrage when apparently Art did that with SB's adam4adam account.
