The Ice Shelf has kept a lid ..... basically just like opening a bottle of soda on it for millenia ..... this will only vastly accelerate the amount of global warming we've been getting

Kind of scary. The earth is reacting to man's mistreatment of it. Who knows how much more it can take.

I'm waiting for the GOP response. One of two things:

    1) Denial.
    2) Cut taxes.

This report is very worrying. These 'plumes' are one of the phenomena we should be seeing if the theory is correct.
A cold Earth keeps methane frozen and inert on the ocean floor. A warming Earth may begin to release billions of tons of this gas into the atmosphere, leading to rapid and runaway(and uncontrollable) global warming; creating a nightmarish 'hothouse' Earth!
