Has anyone underwent skin removal surgery?

    ...or considered it?
I am at 208lbs right now. I am down 85lbs since I began Weight Watchers six years ago. (Down 107 lbs from my heaviest of 315)

My doctor performed the BMI and it seems that most of the weight I have left is skin; he appromixated 20-30 lbs.

My question is if anyone has underwent the procedures or contemplated them?

I've known a few people who had it done. From what I hear, the recovery is painful, but totally worth it.

    It's something I am considering.

I have lost 106 pounds at last count. I have a little skin, but I am hoping since I lost the weight through regular diet and exercise, it will clear up.

If your doctor has said that it's mostly skin, this may be a necessary surgery - because the saggy skin can cause other problems - like skin infections.

I have had family members that had this surgery - and it did not go well. I know two people that got really bad staff infections and continue to have problems, so if you do, pick your doctor carefully.

I am going to reassess my situation this summer and see if I still think I may have to have it.

    Good luck to you.

A coworker had it done. Yes, it was painful but he said worth it.

And congratulations on your weight loss. Keep up the good work; I'm sure your quality of life has inproved greatly. My coworker said he wished he had the surgery years ago.
