Record Massive Black Holes Discovered Lurking in Monster Galaxies

"two monsters with masses equivalent to 10 billion suns that are threatening to consume anything, even light, within a region five times the size of our solar system."

It is hard to try to even visualize something that huge.

    LOL!

Honestly though, i am always surprised at the language they use.... "lurking".. as if these things are predators just waiting to devour us .... theres one at the centre of our own system and without it, we wouldnt even be here...

Were you compressed into a singularity? Or did he lack sufficient mass? icon_biggrin.gif

They can't because of spaghettification. Yup, it's a real term.

That would be impossible due to the unimaginable force of gravity. It would be crushed light years before getting anywhere near it.

according to Neil Degrasse Tyson...death by Black Hole would be painless, kind of "fun" actually...he claims that all of your atoms would be pulled apart simultaneously..so you would not feel it..you'd just fly apart..then,eventually your atoms would condense down to an extremely heavy mass..

what part of not even light can escape a black hole makes you think a camera would work because it wouldn't be able to function without light (ignoring the more obvious point that the black hole would consume said camera)?

Sounds brutal. So people cant even survive in that.
I thought it just Kirbied matter.

you honestly thought a person could survive a black hole? what did you think happened to all the matter it consumed? where were you the day hydrostatic equilibrium was explained? this is why america keeps dropping in the science rankings.

at least in 9 billion years......when the sun burns out...unless we encounter a black hole first.
