This year because I am broke as fuck I'm going to make a mix CD of Christmas music as a gift for some people. I did the same thing last year and this year have received compliments and requests to do it again.

This is my playlist from last year's album:

    1. Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow - Michael Bublé
    2. Sleigh Ride - Natalie Cole
    3. Hark! The Herald Angels Sing - Aretha Franklin
    4. Jingle Bells - Frank Sinatra
    5. The Little Drummer Boy - Jackson 5
    6. Christmas Canon - Trans-Siberian Orchestra
    7. Carol Of The Bells - Natalie Cole
    8. Last Christmas- Taylor Swift
    9. I'll Be Home For Christmas - Aly & AJ
    10. My Little Drum - Vince Guaraldi Trio
    11. Angels - Aretha Franklin
    12. O Come, O Come Emmanuel - Sufjan Stevens
    13. The Christmas Song - Michael Bublé
    14. The Christmas Waltz - Frank Sinatra
    15. We Three Kings - Aly & AJ
    16. Silent Night - Taylor Swift
    17. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas - Jackson 5
    18. Twelve Days Of Christmas - Natalie Cole

What are your favourite Christmas songs/albums?

This isn't quite what I'm looking for (too rock-ish for my audience) but it's pretty good:

Very nice playlist, especially for Aretha Franklin, The Jackson 5, and Sufjan Stevens (people NEED to know him !).

And yeah, I'm a big christmas music lover here.

The french composer/arranger Michel Legrand made a Christmas album this year with a lot of amazing contributors including Mika, Rufus Wainwright, Carla Bruni and Coeur-de-Pirate singing both in french and english. Here's an aperçu :

And I love The Puppini Sister's version of Christmas :

And one I can't stop listening, Florence Welch's version of Last Christmas :

It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year by Andy Williams (it's sad he has cancer now...)

... i always imagine Rockefeller Center and the ice skating rink there when listening to this song. It was quite busy for sure this last Friday there.

    Oh my god...
I keep downloading albums from the "Best-selling Christmas/holiday albums in the United States" on Wikipedia and it's all so fucking awful.

    My top choices:

Christmas Canon - Trans Siberian Orchestra
Mary Did You Know - Kenny Rogers and Wynonna
O Holy Night - Josh Groban (that dude can sing!)
Here Comes Santa Claus - Elvis
12 Days of Christmas - Straight No Chaser
    Sleigh Ride - Boston Pops
Little Big Town - Santa Claus is Back in Town on the CMT Country Christmas special was incredible. That band can do no wrong.

And I'm really liking this Buble Christmas CD.
