    Hey Guys,

Was hoping someone could point me to a really good gym in West Hollywood that has state of the art equipment. Heading out there on Friday for vacation and never really cared about a gym before. Thanks!!

My fav when visiting LALA/WEHO is Crunch on Sunset and Crescent Hts. Great space, great eye candy, good equipment, nice lockerrooms... a very LA experience.

Oy. Do you still shower behind frosted glass, visible in silhouette to all, at Crunch?

I met Fabio there! He'd already healed from his terrible encounter with a bird on a roller coaster.

Yes, the frosted glass was still there on my last visit. I'm sure WEHO denizens can confirm this.

Wow, poor Fabio! And yes, poor bird, as well.

But see, this kind of meeting at Crunch is why I recommend it as a very LA kinda place. Of course, one should visit Gold's Venice too -- well worth the trip, but the OP asked about WEHO gyms, and while on my meds I try to remain on topic.

I remember that, apparently he didn't hear when someone yelled "DUCK!" or goose or whatever.

muchmorethanmuscle saidI think Gold's in Hollywood is better. It's a serious gym. Lots of eye candy. People say that all the gay porn stars go there. I can't really tell since I don't watch modern porn. But it's a good gym, free parking (if you can find it) and the rates are reasonable.

I assume you'll have a car and will be driving.

I can't say that the equipment is state of the art. But it has good equipment. It's not a girlish place to train.

Thank you! Will have a car so I will check it out. I'm a sad gay man, never watch porn. icon_eek.gif

I agree with Muchmore. If you're open to outside WEHO, then Gold's Hollywood is great. I actually prefer it for working out. I can sometimes walk to Crunch when I stay with friends in WEHO, so I always like to get at least one dose of the WEHO experience there, but Gold's is more my preference.

If you're driving to gyms, you really have to check out Gold's Venice. You'll always see pro bodybuilders there, or a magazine photoshoot, or a Japanese TV crew, or Lou Ferrigno working out next to you (like I did)... And even if you don't, it's just an all-around great gym!

Just things I heard/read while doing my own research.....
Gold's Hollywood is a serious(ly gay) gym with the occasional celebrity sighting, and a steam room that gets really "late night Cinemax" on Sundays. Many sites that have reviews for gym say that you should stay out of the steam room if you don't want to get something other than steam in your eyes. Cons.. lots of bitchy circuit queens and very busy most of the time.
Crunch is more of a social gym with a live DJ spinning on ?Sundays? This is where most of the amateur "models, actors, etc." go.... Very social. Con... expensive.
Besides those.... there aren't anymore that stand out... ..well there's a LA Fitness Sports Center in the West Hollywood strip... not much to say.
