I'm curious to hear your experiences that you've had for first dates! Post the details regarding your best first date! Did you both forgo all the planned details and just ravage each other all night long? Was it a moonlit walk down a beach?

For myself, it's a toss up between sushi (which led to a great long term relationship), or drinks that led to a night of drunken naked dancing and sexing.

Met up for some beers at a rather chill yet classy bar/restaurant & just talked then my bitch supposed friend showed up crashing the party... We gave up the bars & started to get to know each other running. It was the greatest! I think that's why I want this Ex back!

Best was when I was 20. Met this guy I'd harbored a crush on for at least a year at that point: he was 24. I remember running through the rain to my car and going to eat cheap chinese food. We ended up on the levee behind my house drinking a bottle of wine and talking. I don't remember what we said, just that I was laying back and his head was on my chest looking up at the stars.

It was a great night. We're best friends now almost 10 years later and he still says he regards that as one of the best, if not the best date he's ever had.

We agreed to meet before he went on a trip to Asia (he was going from Dubai to Thailand then SF then LA where I met him), and when I met him he gave me a gift bag with things he got for me on his trips. We kind of had a 3 day "first date" and did all sorts of things.

He rented a convertible and picked me up at LAX when I flew in from Virginia. Then he drove us up the Pacific Coast Highway to SF...stopping and soaking in the scenery along the way. Days of enjoying the ride and the fun stops and nights of passionate sex. Stole my heart along the way.

My favorite first date definitely isn't the best date I've had, but it's my favorite because of how weird it was.

When I was living in Sao Paulo I met this guy at a club. Whatever, we danced. He wanted to take me out so he picked me up a few days later. He didn't look anything like I remembered, and his car was full of stuffed animals, mostly Garfields.

We went for Japanese on a street that was known for its prostitutes. Lol. The menu was Japanese-Portuguese, and my Portuguese being terrible, it was pretty rough. Additionally, his English was awful. We barely spoke, but I really enjoyed the linguistic situation I was in.

The portuguese word for transvestite is traveste, which sounds like our English 'travesty.'

So we ate sushi, said what we could, and watched the hookers work for their money. Yup, one for the record books.

It was a while ago; but I still remember it pretty well ^_^

I met him in Splash on a Friday night. I was sitting against the mirror at the main bar, where a lot of guy traffic was happening. He walked by and our eyes locked. He walked past me, but then he turned around to give me another look, and that's when I flashed him a smile. He came over and said hi and smiled and immediately I felt a strong chemistry. He was so cute, with very sexy smile and soulful puppy eyes. *sigh* After we chat a bit, I asked him to see if he wanted to get out of the bar and go somewhere else (Always a good tactic to use, because this will prevent other guys from hitting on him, and even if you go to another bar later in the same night, psychologically you guys arrived there together, so there's a sense of bonding. Plus other guys saw that you arrived at this second bar together, they'd think that you guys are dating or you are BFs, this eliminates competition). So we go to a second bar, it was really wonderful. The night ended with us saying goodnight at the train station. He promised that he will call the next day.

So the next day he called me and he asked me whether or not I'd like to go out again. Of course I said yes. We met at Chelsea and we had a great dinner at a Thai restaurant, that's when I learned more about each other. We got to talk about his aspirations and dreams of what he would like to do later in his life. We then went to a club and dance the night away. At the dance floor he kissed me and it was really magical. Although it was crowded I felt we were the only two people there. At the end of the night we were holding hands like we're BFs.

Yeah it was a good summer fling that lasted about 6 weeks. He's still on the FB. He's a sweet guy. ^_^

I've had a whole lot of first dates (who wouldn't at age 52?) but one stands out as the best. I met him here on RJ and we e-mailed and phoned daily for over a year. We lived 2600 miles apart. We decided to meet. He flew to my city and we met in the terminal at the airport. What a thrill - seeing him (and touching him) for the first time. We held hands in the car, driving to a cozy, romantic restaurant. Sitting in the leather booth, I was amazed, just being able to look at him & talk to him in person - face to face - without a damn phone. Finally I had to stop eating and hold his hand across the table, while we talked. We left and I took him home. What sweet memories we made that weekend. After that, we did it again a number of times, and finally he moved to the west coast with me - and here we are. Best first date I ever had, and I've had a few.

My favorite first date, sadly, was with a guy I didn't even like at first. We had the same musical and culinary tastes, but somehow felt like I couldn't relate to him. He took me to a hole in the wall traditional sushi restaurant tucked away in downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado. We talked for hours about music and cooking for ourselves and others... but after that first date we didn't go anywhere. Just friends : So, heres my dead dog.

I've only had two first dates (with guys) and both turned into long-term relationships. The first lasted over three years and the second I'm still in. I'd say that the most memorable of the two was the second one:

We took a local day trip and visited a museum, walked around, grabbed a quick lunch, then headed back to his place where I'd left my car. Had a quick supper at Papa Gino's (the pizza took forEVER to be ready!). We took the pizza back to his place, devoured it, then watched a movie we both hadn't seen before. By the end of the movie we were both basically sitting on top of each other---I think it was he who made the first move to kiss me. We were both very into each other. It got late and he asked me if I just wanted to stay over. I figured why not. We had a nice night of cuddling and me suggesting the next morning "Wanna jerk off together?" icon_cool.gif He was fine with that.

And here we are 15 months later! icon_biggrin.gif

P.S. I've never experienced a first date with a guy that didn't involve sex in some form. icon_lol.gif

I met a guy in a movie theater. He invited me over for lunch. While we were having lunch, he asked if I recognized him. It turns out, he was once a neighbor! We were neighbors for more than a year but never really did say anything much to each other aside from the usual 'Hi' 'Hello'. We also never thought that we were both into each other.

We rode in his SUV. We held hands and reminisced about the past. He took me to a house that he was 'building'. He was building it for his family. He turned out to be a swinger as he had a kid with his wife (his then GF when he was still my neighbor). From then on, I just wanted the day to be over and maybe just have sex with him.

But then, he swept me off my feet again by taking me to a restaurant on top of a 30 story hotel. We ended up spending the night, but I had to ignore him after that (as I would not want the complication of being a home wrecker). icon_confused.gif
