I'm curious to find out how you amazing men who have been in long-term relationships with your partner/boyfriend met each other?

Also, when you finally discussed your feelings for each other...were those feelings completely mutual at the time...or did you one of you have to wait for the other to 'catch up?'

    Thanks for the input!

My partner and I met online, on the now-defunct site, connexion.org. I was caught by his description of his music tastes being akin to a scrapbook of life and we started chatting and one thing led to another ;-)

We met in church! I saw him at a Pride Month service at a different congregation and stalked courted him for months with the assistance of several clergy members. Took me months to close the deal, but that was almost 9 years ago so patience paid off.

I met my boyfriend on okcupid. We were a 94% love match, 90% friendship match, 0% enemies. I was the first guy he met after making a profile and he was the second guy I met there.

I felt DURING our first date that he was somebody I could really see myself with in the long term, I even think I loved him a little bit LOL But I of course didn't say anything like that until we'd been dating for several weeks.

It was at a party hosted by the local college's LGBT club. A lot of events like that are worthless, but this one wasn't. icon_biggrin.gif

I met my current boyfriend on match.com. We've been together for a year and three months and counting.

When did we discuss our feelings for each other? He said that he loved me soon into the relationship---so I took it with a grain of salt. I was starting to have strong feelings for him and things began to move fast. Suddenly I was in a relationship with a guy I was absolutely crazy about.

It's weird because we've never "labeled" our status as "monogamous" or "boyfriend and boyfriend", but there's simply a mutual understanding between us that we're a couple and we're exclusive.

A lot of guys who know us have heard about how we met here in Forums in '07 or '08, (so in that case please bear with me while I answer this for any newer guys who haven't met us yet).

We both lived across the country from each other and met in Forums. We each began to notice things the other guy would post occasionally. So, we'd comment back and forth a bit. Then - we E-mailed each other a few times. Finally we phoned each other - which became every night and some mornings. After about a year of that - and hundreds of phone hours, we met in person for the first time at the Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix. Everything clicked and we met again and again........spending weekends together. It was a connection and the feelings were mutual.

Finally here we are - living in California near San Francisco since August 2010. We are two happy guys. How would we have met if it were not for RJ? icon_cool.gif

Original poster, don't take this personally, but would any of us EVER ask a straight person, "how did you meet your CURRENT spouse?"

My fiance and I met at a party that a friend of mine took me too. I almost didn't go, but luckily I did!! Somehow I thought he was straight at first and he thought I was too.....but that would have made us the only straight people at the party icon_lol.gif

We both knew early on that we had something special. When we would talk about the way we felt about each other we were always on the same page.

We got engaged a few months ago and are getting married next October!!!
