Ok, so real jock ive been at it a while. Honestly, my biggest motivator has been to keep my self from being depressed. It turns out that little endorphin rush I get from running two miles and then lifting weights does wonders for ur mind and apparently body. I passed a milestone today. I bench pressed my body weight. A vast majority of you will not be impressed since i only weigh 145lbs but to me it was great. Finally, i feel like my body and health is headed in the right direction. 3 things made me start working out consistently: 1. antidepressant 2. realjock and 3. Old people (haha). I use to sit and monitor the gym everyday and these elderly(im talking in there 70's) people would come in every day to work out. I was just finally like WTF! If they can do it everyday with little to no excuse then I definetly have no excuse. So thanks to all the guys on real jock who have given me advice and encouraged me thus far. keep it up i know ill need more help to keep my routine varied and my drive consistent. icon_biggrin.gif

Congratulations on achieving this milestone. It is natural to see pressing your body weight as a milestone. It means you have arms strong enough to handle your own body.

Do you have other milestones that you are looking forward to achieving?

yup sure do. I would like to weigh about 170lbs. WHo knows maybe even a six pack...im almost to that any way. Id also like to get back to my junior high time of a 5 min. mile. I havnt really thought about what else id like to do to tell the truth besides just being more healthy. Also i think i might like to try Kun Tau or Aikido on down the line.

Big fat congrats! I remember how great it felt just being able to put a 45lb plate on each side of the bar.

is nt that the truth. I had been doing sets of 12 with 45 on each side with tens for quite a while and kinda just plateaud there and then i changed my work out just a bit to be more fast paced and also used some lighter weights to just work til exhaustion. Then all of a sudden it was yesterday i walked up to the bench press and it had the 25s on and i was like what the hell i should try. So i did and i was like well crap i did that and im ok and before i knew it i did my whole set. and then another haha.f
