    "Singer Cesaria Evora, dubbed the 'barefoot diva' for often performing without shoes, has died in her native Cape Verde at the age of 70.

    The cause of her death was cardio respiratory insufficiency and hypertension."

    I have been a fan for years, and hate that I never got to see her perform live. Cafe Atlantico was my favorite album of hers. R.I.P. Barefoot Diva. One of my favorites:

    So sad, I had one of her singles and saw her in concert once. She was great live.

    She is truly missed. What a voice!!! Plus I've been very depressed hearing that Etta James is gravely ill.

    It is. I hope that somebody makes a movie about her life. I was reading an article yesterday about her life, and it would make one-hell-of-a movie.
