    Hello Guys......
could you all tell me.....what are the PROS and CONS of doing Cardio before my workout. When I do my weight training....sometimes I do not have the energy to do cardio. But I am told that if I do cardio first...my weight training will suffer.....So what is the best thing for me to do?.....I see so many of you guys with great muscle development but yet ripped...so obviously you know the process......please share

The articles & books I've red say that you have about 45 minutes or so of optimal hormonal balance during which to exercise intensely. After that, the hormones that encourage muscle growth, like testosterone, growth hormone, and several others, wain. If you do your intensive cardio first, you will use up your muscle-growing hormones and therefore not get as much benefit from strength training.

Also came across some research reported in the NYT which said that 5 minute light cardio warm up before strength training will help prevent injury.

Cardio after... you will tire yourself out too much to workout if done before. Start with 5 minute warmup, though, to get body flushed, then workout, then cardio, no more than 20-30 minutes....

I think it depends. Depends on your fitness goals. Depends on the type of cardio. Depends on the workout routine. And so on. I guess it all comes down to what is more important to you.. a better quality gym workout or better cardio workout.

    I like to do cardio last...since it's when I sweat the most...bleah.
