You should definitely do some hiking if you're into that. I'd recommend hiking Camelback Mountain. South Mountain (south of the city... go figure) is also a good place to hike... watch out for mountain bikers. icon_smile.gif

If you're into architecture, try to go to Taliesin West, which was one of Frank Lloyd Wright's homes and has an interesting tour. Phoenix also has a great botanical garden, which is a cool way to check out all the freaky desert plants.

Welcome...finally. I thought everyone in Alberta had a winter home in Arizona by now? It's cheap here, and your Canadian dollars will go far!

I've lived in Central Phoenix for 6 years, less than a mile from that Denny's... and I've never once been in that place. I only see old people going in there.

Mill Av, Old Town Scottsdale, downtown Glendale (chocolate festival, yay!!!), Phx Zoo, ASU libraries and museums, ur in Peoria, so Lake Pleasant, PAM, Heard Museum, casinos (lots of gr8 concerts 4 little $$$ at Wild Horse Pass), and golf.

the "gay" denny's is only gay when the bars/clubs let out, then watch out!! (only been there once, but it's uber...umm...friendly. icon_wink.gif )

You know what's funny? Last week I just turned down a "nicely paid" contract to work in Phoenix from Jan 6 through mid-May.

It's way too much fun down here to leave for that long. icon_lol.gif

You could have driven up north to see the Grand Canyon, but I guess the point in coming to AZ was to get away from the cold and snow. icon_smile.gif
