HIV prevention guides always say not to floss before oral, but they never (at least the ones I have read) say what that means specifically. Do they mean immediately before, a few hours before, or are you not supposed to floss in at all on a day where you might engage in oral?

I'd say several hours. Your platelets will cover up the wounds within that time. Floss in the morning. Hook up at night. lol.

I wouldn't floss or bush my teeth immediately before of after oral.

I think ZbmwM5 has given the best advice. If anything use a good mouth wash before and after and have fun.

I totally agree.....I don't swallow but this guy a while ago used to blow me a lot. He was "str8" just liked sucking dick. He'd swallow then run to bathroom spit then brush...then I was like ummm dude you should never do that if someone has something u are just rubbing it in.

And on the condom note, I'm sorry. . .I feel like they are unneccessary for oral sex. Sucking on a latex bag is far from enjoyable for either partner, I'd rather just jerk off.

Not sure if I believe that entirely.

Not sure I believe that either. Even without making out, my gums are continually swimming in saliva, and they don't break down because of it.

I totally agree, reason why I do not engage, most guys here have not done their research, even pre-cum carries all stds including aids.

I recall reading stomach acidity pretty much kills the virus. So main risk is any open cuts in the mouth (as so many have stated).

a hibiclens mouthwash will kill anything. however if you use it alot, it will stain your teeth and they will have to be whitened professionally.
and you need a script for chlorhexidine in oral mouthwash form. Most dentists will not even write for it.

They never taught us this in dental school. I'd say that having good oral hygiene and a healthy mouth would be your best defense.

The only thing is that with a virus there is nothing to kill. It needs to be able to break down the protien coating that surrounds the RNA. Only thing that destroys the vector is Oxygen.
