Got behind a van at a bank drive-thru today and was shocked at what stickers this woman had on her back window. When she pulled out I yelled, "I can't WAIT to vote for Obama." In case you can't read some:

    2012 Vote Republican Don't ReNIG!
Zoo has African Lion, White House has Lying African
    Etc.

Only a slight 180 degree difference than what we see on the typical Santa Monica Prius in 2000 - 2008. And yes, I have pics

    I call radishes on this.

I've never seen Democratic bumper stickers that were racist at all, let alone the shit this asswipe is proud to associate with himself. ...."Don't ReNig"??? --someone's cruisin' for a bruisin' on that one. The "African" ones are racist, sure, but that one is van-bash worthy.

Yeah, that one's pretty bad, but I've seen some pretty vile stuff around SM, but it generally includes comparisons with Hitler.

Ughh. I do hate references to "Hitler" or "Nazis"....too many people suffered horribly to water down those references from the pure evil they represent. I think both sides (and many others) reach for that bomb too casually.

And it was frequently the bomb of first resort in my 15 years in Santa Monica. Amazing how many ‘Hitlers’ we had in the Republican Party.

A good example would be the old Jew residential realtor who was probably mid 70s with an Austrian accent in our RE office in Santa Monica. One day back in 2004 she went on a rampage about George Bush being worse than Hilter. Of course I ‘engaged’ with a comment like that floating around Given her age and accent, she knew better. She wound up with a rant that she hated Bush so I suggested that she ‘shave it’.

It was a difficult election cycle around that office with 203 agents and only 3 conservatives.

I'm glad you brought that up, freedomisntfree. Your bud socalfitness has a tendency to compare Obama and Democrats to Nazis. I'll remind him next time he brings up such a comparison that you think it's vile to do so.

That's a complete lie, and you really ought to be ashamed of yourself. I compare Obama and the far left Democrats to socialists, and I further qualify that to mean the variety of socialists in modern, West European countries.

And you brought up a book on several occasions where the author links modern liberals to the nazis because you believe...?

Is Stalin considered to be modern? I've seen you link him to Obama and Democrats as well.

I have mentioned a book "Liberal Fascism" that probes modern liberalism's origins and argues that there is a relationship to early 20th-century fascist politics. There was no linkage by me of Obama to Nazis, and your statement remains a lie.

Furthermore, when I have mentioned Stalin and other Soviet leaders, it had nothing to to with Obama.

Of course, "Liberal Fascism" is a book - to quote Dottie Parker - "not to be tossed side lightly but rather hurled with great force." It is also suitable for the lining of bird cages. What it was not meant to be is read or taken seriously as it's one of the dumbest books ever written and been completely debunked by nearly everyone.

That said, I don't recall off the top of my head Socal comparing Obama to Nazis, though many of his buds frequently claim the Nazis were left wing because they seized power via the National Socialist Party (after killing all the actual socialists).

Uh.. early 20th-century fascist politics includes nazism, no? Obama is a modern liberal, no? Excuse me while I connect the dots.

You connecting the dots especially based on me referencing a book is an entirely different matter than claiming that I compared Obama to Nazis. You remain a complete liar. No need to sugar coat it.

I am not claiming you believe Obama is a nazi or that he wants to commit the heinous atrocity like the Holocaust. The comparison I am talking about is one that is made by the book you brought up.

Here is the book's description I found on Amazon:

Liberal Fascism offers a startling new perspective on the theories and practices that define fascist politics. Replacing conveniently manufactured myths with surprising and enlightening research, Jonah Goldberg reminds us that the original fascists were really on the left, and that liberals from Woodrow Wilson to FDR to Hillary Clinton have advocated policies and principles remarkably similar to those of Hitler's National Socialism and Mussolini's Fascism.

If you believe, as the book claims to demonstrate, that those on the left advocate policies and principles remarkably similar to those of Hitler's National Socialism, then that is a comparison to Obama and nazis.

You stated I made a comparison that I never made. Furthermore, I referenced the book, but did not specifically indicate any agreement.

In one situation that I recall, a member referred to "Republican Fascism" and I referenced the book to point out there was a different opinion.

I found one thread where he brings it up:

    http://www.realjock.com/gayforums/1306132

Webster made a claim about the Republican's fascist agenda, socalfitness attempts to rebuke that claim and says the following:

And you might be interested in this reference that actually identifies fascism as a left-wing phenomenon...

Sounds to me like he is in agreement about modern liberal philosophies being tied to fascism that happened in Germany and Italy. And you know how liberal socalfitness is with throwing out terms like socialist, communist, marxist—like those labels were going out of style.

    Edited to add:

Here's another thread where the book is brought up again, this time by shybuffguy:

    http://www.realjock.com/gayforums/1412520

Socalfitness replies to shybuffguy who gave a long reply about today's liberals with their philosophies stemming from fascism. Certainly not disagreeing with shybuffguy's position (I would suggest he indirectly supports it).

The quote does not indicate agreement with the source, versus stating the position of the source. But either case, you still lied, and that point is clear.

    socalfitness,

The point that is clear is that a reasonable person can look at your collected statements and come to the same conclusion I have that you believe modern liberalism comes from fascism. No need to Pull a Mitt Romney, we know your position.

You have absolutely no credibility. You stated that I compared Obama to Nazis. I referenced a book and stated what it asserted to counter an opposing point. You are not a reasonable person. You happen to be a liar. You could have stated you were mistaken, but chose to justify your lie. I am finished with this conversation. Have better things to do than deal with liars.

Whatever helps you sleep at night.

I have no problem apologizing to Southbeach if I know I was wrong. He can attest to that. But I have no intention of backtracking on something that is so glaring—where you believe modern liberal philosophy comes from, which is how the comparison is made.

yourname2000 saidI'm almost surprised that it's legal to make racist bumper stickers (no matter who is making it or who they're being racist against.) Yeah, I get "free speech", but at some point it's hate speech. Even if Obama never sees any of these (and he's unlikely to), what about the rest of the black community seeing this guy ride around? It's one thing to hate your current president because you disagree with the direction he's taking your country; but, it's quite another to coach that hatred in racist terms and express it as such.

The thing is Obama is not just a black man, he is half white too, and people just don't hate the black half, they hate what his done and doing to America.
