So I'm on this date, and I can tell that this guy is really into me, though the feeling on my end is not mutual. I am trying to figure a way out this situation, but being that this was my first date in FOREVER, I did not come prepared with an "out".

Suddenly a song comes on that I've never heard before and I kinda like it. So anytime this happens, I pull out the phone and Shazam the song.... Turns out, it's Lady Gagas, "The Edge of Glory", My date looks at me all weird for getting my phone out, so then I explain that I've never heard the song before and that I was shazaming so that I could look it up later. He suddenly looks at me with disdain and says "yea, that's Lady Gaga, and that song has been around forever. How do you not know that??" The date, much to my joy, ended on a quick and sour note!

Thanks Lady Gaga! I may not be the biggest fan, or even up to date with your music, but you saved me from a date!

lmao... I have some stories that involve that bitch at the craziest of times, lol. Anyone remember that US nation wise Emergency Alert Test? Direct TV haulted all their programming and waited for the signal with music playing in the background... non other than "Papparazi" was playing and I busted out laughing in the cafe at school cause I was like..."YOU SEE! I ALWAYS SAID THIS BITCH WAS THE OMAN TO THE END OF THE WORLD! NEXT TIME WHEN IT'S FOR REAL, THEY'LL BE PLAYING "TELEPHONE"!"

Which brings up another story, everytime I am going to go out somewhere and "Telephone" starts to play on the way there... I turn the fuck around and go back becare their is bound to be bullshit going or going to go down.

I was going to blame your lack of communication skills and inability to act like a mature adult to your young age, but seeing you're almost 30 years old put the damper on that theory.

Sounds like he was pissed you didn't know a lady gaga song, so funny. I'm proud of you for not knowing.

Not a big fan of her myself, and only have heard some of her songs because of my friends, I couldn't care less about her stuff.

I really don't think it makes you any less/more of a man regardless of what you listen to. It's annoying when guys think they're real manly or doing some sort of masculine service by not knowing about Lady Gaga but it's also really annoying when people are offended if you don't know about their musical tastes...I think the most reasonable stance is to respect everyone's musical taste.

As for needing Lady Gaga to end a bad date: grow a pair. icon_twisted.gif

If you aren't feeling it, I think it's best to be honest, not to look for an "out"

Someone had to come to the rescue, might as well let it be Gaga.

Instead of waiting for a Lady Gaga song to save me, I would have just said "Based on my experiences, we will both be better not seeing each other again" then paid my bill and left.

Please, for your own benefit, get a spine and grow a pair.

    Peace and blessings to you.

Why just not be honest with the guy and say..'I am not into you - I am glad we met-but there is no chemistry'...why go through the pain of sitting there and struggling.icon_rolleyes.gif

Just remember that it might be the opposite the next time you are in a date and you are into the guy, but the other guy has no interest at all in you.
