    Hey guys, how are you?
I'm new in Vancouver and I'm a little lost in where I will pass the Xmas. I'm living with my roomy from Brazil too, and both os us don't know where to pass, as it is our first Xmas without our family. Someone have some suggestion for us? Some party, or some place cool to celebrate here in vancouver? icon_sad.gif

Thank you very much and Merry Xmas for everybody! icon_biggrin.gif

We're about 45 minutes from Vancouver (and it would be like a party with your grandparents, lol)

Hopefully more Vancouverites will see your topic and ...you never know!

Feliz Natal e prospero ano novo!

That's a toughy....I think most people spend it with family or close friends (we used to have a "lost souls" Christmas dinner for all of our friends who didn't have some place else to go.) You might just want to "drop" into conversation with anyone you do know already here that you're solo for Christmas....many people think "the more the merrier" and would be happy to share the day rather than know you were on your own.

I'm at a family dinner in Victoria, so I'm outta town. If you're really stranded and grasping for straws, you could also call up the gay community centre (http://www.qmunity.ca/) and ask if they know of any open-to-the-public events --it wouldn't surprise me if a bar/gay restaurant was doing something...there are a lot of us 'mos who don't have family to go to, so hopefully someone is providing an alternative.

Hope you're enjoying Van so far. icon_biggrin.gif Merry Christmas to you and your roomies.

Hey, thank you for your answer here. Actually the main problem is that I don't know so many people here. As I am new here, and my classes didn't start yet, I don't have exactly new friends to pass the Xmas with their families, you know?

I visit the gay community centre that you said, but they are "OFF" these days, because of the holiday. HAHAHA. But no problem. In the last case I walk around Granville Street and try to find something to do.

Anyway, thank you very much for your message. Merry Christmas for you. icon_biggrin.gif
