...my true love gave to me, a razor sharp needled Baker's Spruce tree.

(I mercilessly lacerated my hands trying to decorate it, lol!)

English is an INCREDIBLY tough language to rhyme icon_eek.gif Most germanic languages are nightmarish for it.... Gaelic arent much easier .... Romance and Polynesian languages tend to be quite easy with a lot of words ending in vowels

I don't find it so, its the metering that's tricky. (like iambic pentameter for example)

Yeah, I didn't have a problem with the rhyme scheme so much as the meter. But keep 'em coming! icon_smile.gif

really? I find metre to be the easy part in english.... its mostly stress-based... unlike other languages like Japanese that are syllable length-based...

OK, let's get the momentum back here. Not only should a parody rhyme within itself, but also evoke the meter & rhyming of the original lyrics. Hence:

On the first day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
A pre-lit and plastic fake tree

On the second day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
    Two rubber gloves
And a pre-lit and plastic fake tree

On the third day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
    Three French sluts
    Two rubber gloves
And a pre-lit and plastic fake tree

On the fourth day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
    Four calling bois
    Three French sluts
    Two rubber gloves
And a pre-lit and plastic fake tree

On the fifth day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
    Five piercing rings
    Four calling bois
    Three French sluts
    Two rubber gloves
And a pre-lit and plastic fake tree

On the sixth day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
    Six gays a-laying
    Five piercing rings
    Four calling bois
    Three French sluts
    Two rubber gloves
And a pre-lit and plastic fake tree

On the seventh day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
    Seven guys a-rimming
    Six gays a-laying
    Five piercing rings
    Four calling bois
    Three French sluts
    Two rubber gloves
And a pre-lit and plastic fake tree

On the eighth day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
    Eight men a-moaning
    Seven guys a-rimming
    Six gays a-laying
    Five piercing rings
    Four calling bois
    Three French sluts
    Two rubber gloves
And a pre-lit and plastic fake tree

On the ninth day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
    Nine lads a-prancing
    Eight men a-moaning
    Seven guys a-rimming
    Six gays a-laying
    Five piercing rings
    Four calling bois
    Three French sluts
    Two rubber gloves
And a pre-lit and plastic fake tree

On the tenth day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
    Ten lords a-licking
    Nine lads a-prancing
    Eight men a-moaning
    Seven guys a-rimming
    Six gays a-laying
    Five piercing rings
    Four calling bois
    Three French sluts
    Two rubber gloves
And a pre-lit and plastic fake tree

On the eleventh day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
    Eleven pissers pissing
    Ten lords a-licking
    Nine lads a-prancing
    Eight men a-moaning
    Seven guys a-rimming
    Six gays a-laying
    Five piercing rings
    Four calling bois
    Three French sluts
    Two rubber gloves
And a pre-lit and plastic fake tree

On the twelfth day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
    Twelve hummers humming
    Eleven pissers pissing
    Ten lords a-licking
    Nine lads a-prancing
    Eight men a-moaning
    Seven guys a-rimming
    Six gays a-laying
    Five piercing rings
    Four calling bois
    Three French sluts
    Two rubber gloves
And a pre-lit and plastic fake tree!

    Oringal final verse:

On the twelfth day of Christmas,

my true love sent to me

    Twelve drummers drumming,

    Eleven pipers piping,

Ten lords a-leaping,

    Nine ladies dancing,

Eight maids a-milking,

Seven swans a-swimming,

    Six geese a-laying,

    Five golden rings,

    Four calling birds,

    Three French hens,

    Two turtle doves,

And a partridge in a pear tree!
