Again, this is something that, despite your party lines, you should find to be morally reprehensible. Our government selection process should be based off making sure everyone has the right to vote - not making it more difficult for particular groups to be able to do so.

The reason that Republicans try so hard to suppress eligibility and turnout (through robocalls and push polling) is that they know when Democrats and progressives vote, we win and our policies are put into effect. It's only through disenfranchisement that Republicans can continue to "govern" because their beliefs are deeply unpopular.

The issue becomes that, of all the groups that are being disenfranchised, the most major group is that of the college student. The younger crowds are the people we should be getting out to vote - getting them started in the habit. By disenfranchising them at an early age, we are forming a negative habit of excluding them from the democratic process. We should, instead, be starting them in the habit of voting regularly...It's counter-intuitive to what we should be doing in order to get more Americans involved in the process.

The Republicans are trying to turn the US electoral process into something we see in the Third World, with voting "irregularities" and denial of access to the polls the norm. Soon our elections will require observers from the United Nations to ensure their fairness.

There's too much potential for fraud. No one is being discouraged from voting, they just need to do it properly.

And when has there been widespread fraud before? That's a phony scare tactic to justify disenfranchising legitimate voters, especially the young and minorities.

Make it impossible for your opponents to vote. It's the best type of fraud ever...
It's like the scare tactics used by any fascist nation. Who knew that the Republicans would use a tactic from the fascist playbook?
