About as funny as a calender that depricates any other minority group. Imagine if this calender were published about a different group:

African Americans: "12 months of the negative effects of rap music. Not that there's anything wrong with that."
Latinos: "12 months of not speaking English. Not that there's anything wrong with that."
Jews: "12 months of being stingy with money. Not that there's anything wrong with that."
Asians: "12 months of being good at math. Not that there's anything wrong with that."

    And so on..

It's not freedom of speech when it's done in this manner. It's a stupid move by the publishers and producers, and never should have gotten past the piece of paper it was initially drawn on to begin with.

Dude....Freedom of Speech doesn't give anyone the license to make pejorative comments on the Gay Community. We've come a long way to express our sexuality and to have some artist poke fun of it is insulting. Would this artist get away with his Freedom of Speech if he had poked fun of any ethnic community? Don't think so!

Even more insulting is his satire that just because we're gay...we also have AIDS. Just so you know...people have died and are dying of this disease....

First amendment. Let him say what he wants. We can say what we want. Only through the free exchange and critical evaluation of ideas can people truly learn from each other.

Appalling. I'm thankful I live in a country where there are laws against hate propaganda.

Statistically, more gay men contract AIDS than any other group in the West. Pointing that out might be derogatory if there wasn't a grain of truth in the stereotype. Denial is certainly not the way to go, here.

You are somewhat correct in your assertion. Statistically more gay men contract HIV which then if left untreated, develops into AIDS.

Now as for denial, I don't believe that was my point. I believe the artist is simply generalizing that gay men will contract AIDS just because of who they are. Because of that...he's a fool. That's like me stereotyping that all jocks here are dumb asses when I know, judging from the cursory exchanges I've had with some of them, that there are a significant number of notable exceptions...brains and brawn - a fabulous combination.

I do agree in principle with what FF says. However as other have pointed out, I can imagine the outrage if something similar was done in relation to a particular religion or ethnic group.

So you don't think similar exists regarding Christians? Or Catholics? or Jews?

Other than February I don't see much problem with it. If people don't like it or are offended by it, then they won't buy it - perceived problem solved.

Freedom of speech doesn't allow people to be disrespectful. Joking about stereotypes, specially about AIDS, is just disgusting and nothing to do with freedom of speech. With that logic, that means that I can make a calendar saying, for example, "Welcome to South Africa, we all have AIDS"... But I will not, because is revolting to use "freedom of speech" and made that kind of jokes.

Yes, it does. Thats what freedom of speech is. Getting your feelings hurt does not trump the constitution.

LOL. How come no one is uploading funny pictures to Amazon? I suggest everyone upload pics of disgraceful Christians and other haha content on the product's page.

Examples of parody product pics submitted by customers:
