My kitty was always there for me.. whenever I was down, she would sense it and come and sleep next to me... but she died a few months back.... after I got better from a bad bout of mono fever....

We have a superstition, that when your animals get sick or die, they've taken the evil eye/bad energy from you and become sick in your place... My kitty got ill just as I got better, and died a few weeks after.... a few weeks later, my friend who lives in Asia told me she had a dream of me being ill the month before.... and that she looked through the window and saw a cat meowing directly at her.. a grey cat, with black stripes... she then described the exact way my cat would meow to me... she told me that she must have seen me in the dream, and my kitty must have seen her...

I knows it sounds crazy, but we do believe our animals sacrifice themselves for us, and we also believe in dreams we communicate with one another.. this post is for my kitty.. I miss her ... and I am sad she had to go to keep me healthy.... RIP Mikaela (aka Meowy)

    I'm so sorry Greenhopper!

". and I am sad she had to go to keep me healthy.."

..but why would that be necessary, for kitty to die just to keep you healthy? I think you would have recovered anyway.

    warm hugs

Thats the superstition.... we believe the pet takes up the evil eye/bad energy from you... so they become ill in your place... thats why in the ancient near east they had "scapegoats".. goats that were cast into the desert to take the evil away with them.. the Chinese use it in feng shui as well, putting fish and plants in certain places to absorb harmful chi... the belief is that in place of humans being affected by the bad vibes, the plants and animals absorb it and become sick and die....

Peace be with you Green and I hope you find another kitty soon. Yes, I believe that animals do sacrifice themselves for us. Animals keep us sane in a world filled with madness.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss...

I have a cat that looks just like yours. She's getting very old (14 years) and I wonder how much longer I'll have with her. Before she moves on, I will have had her throughout my entire 20s (I got her as a young adult). It's interesting to think how much joy pets can bring us and how much they help define a certain time in our lives. Don't worry, you'll find a new pet to care for, and will be content with the memory of your previous companion.

    All the best...

So sorry for your loss. I just lost one of my best kitty friends (pictured in profile) after 17 1/2 years, I know what you're going through.
She was so lucky to have you.

I'm so sorry for your cat's passing and for your grief.

yourname2000's advice was perfect! There is another kitty waiting for your love!

I've lost several cats over the last few years, and I miss them still. But, I've taken in a kitten whom I've named Aliya Jasmine, and she's stolen my heart!

I look forward to you falling in love all over again with another wonderful cat.

You are obviously a cat-souled person.

Well my favourite pet was actually my parrot.. but have a thing about cages now lol... I ve had cats, dogs, snakes, lizards, frogs, turtles, even goats and insects and anemones and fish... and a yard full of greens.. Im just a non-human-souled person ;).. but its true that cats are said to have special powers somehow....

My condolences to you for your cat. I lost my cat who was 11 and my only pet ever 6 months after my mom died. It's not easy.

sorry to hear that. your cat looks like one i used to have.
Animals feed off our energy so if you believe she absorbed your bad energy from you being sick, its far outweighed by a lifetime of good enery she would have got from you and all the love you gave her. dont think she would have any regrets about that

If your situation permits it consider rescuing another deserving cat. I rescued my dog and also have an African Gray parrot. In addition to me enjoying both of them, they have a very interesting relationship that is hilarious. Bird tries to boss the dog around, he won't allow it, she gets angry. Then when she thinks I won't notice, she'll toss part of a snack to him.

I believe the SAME thing as you. It runs in my family and I know of several situaions where things could have been the end for family members and a pet died and they rapidly got better.
