So, I recently went on a trip to the great state of Montana, and I have to say I fucking love it there! Because CityAznGuy asked me to post pics, here are the three that I liked the best.
    Photobucket">

This is the view from my parent's backyard. It definately makes you feel like you are in the country. They live in the valley, so they are surrounded by mountains like that everywhere you look. I only have a picture from this area because the other mountains we saw while driving and, well, I was lazy.

This is some bird, I dont know what type, but it was right outside my window while I made my ham, cheese, avocado, mushroom and onion omelet every day. Its what is great about the country life, you get fresh wildlife in your own backyard.

This is the other view from the mountain, it may be the same as the first pic, but I liked it so I put it up.

We went on a hike while I was there too but I didnt take any pictures, I gotta leave something or you folks wont go visit :-)

It looks amazing. See, being in the city I really crave peace and serenity like this, where I can just enjoy being in solitude. People always tell me how lucky I live in NYC where I always have things to do and stuff, but when you live in the big city for too long you start to crave nature. I guess we're just all looking for that perfect balance of harmony in our experiences icon_biggrin.gif

Agreed the place is a perfect get away. Best part about Bozeman? 96% white population! Woo hoo! No "why do white men not like Asians?" for a full week!

If I didn't know you better I'd roll my eyes. But instead I'll just do this.

California has too many pretty boys and surfer brahs. It's not for you. You need country cowboys, maybe like the ones that grew up on farms and grew up eating corn and yams like this guy.

Those are beautiful, awesome views of Montana, I love the snow covered landscape with the mountains in the distance. I always wanted to visit Montana, I heard that it is a very gorgeous, scenic state. But some of the extremist liberal hens on here would condemn Montana as too conservative, too racist, and too homophobic. I say bullshit because not all Montanans have that mindset. It is time for all you coast huggers to abandon the big cities like LA and NYC. Come out and discover the "real America".

Not Montana, but in the mid 90's I thought I was sick of California and was really into skiing, so I bought a place in Wyoming. I liked it a lot, and thought I'd made a very smart move. Pure powder, no crowds, open space, great trees, a whole lot for my dollar - real estate wise, and I met some great - and a few not so great people. What I found out is - wherever you go, there you are. In the end, I found myself bored out of my mind with the isolation. I also got tired of nine months of winter. I finally sold the place after about 7 years. I'm glad I tried it though, and I have good memories, for the most part.

I've been to Montana several times.

Each time I have loved it more than the last.

Bozeman is often referred to as BozeAngeles by the locals as there are many people from California that visit and end up staying.

Other areas to visit include Flathead Lake, Missoula and the Bitterroot Valley.

Two years ago I spent a week in the Bob Marshall Wilderness. It is an amazing area filled with bear, lynx, elk and big horn sheep.

There is a 25 mile long , 1000 foot high cliff called "The Chinese Wall" that I absolutely loved.

    Go if you can.

Huh, I never expected to see a topic on Bozeman in here. Bozeman is a nice town, as is Missoula, but both of them are very big college towns which is good and bad, depending on what you are looking for.

    Also, those birds are pheasants.

You should of come over the pass to Butte. Not that there's a lot to do in Butte, but there's some cool scenery. And if you're into historic places, Butte has the biggest presence on the National Registry of Historic Places in the country.

Nearby is Anaconda (boring) but beyond that on the Pintler bypass is Georgetown Lake and Phillipsburg (p-burg).

I've been to Bozeman and loved it. Very chilled and beautiful. Parts of the landscape actually look a little like Northern England and the Highlands of Scotland.

And I found it incredibly friendly.

Defintitely pheasants. I dodge them in my car on the way into London everyday. They are exceptionally stupid.
