And please explain precisely WHY? Because Christie supports civil unions? Yeah, OKAY! F*ck you Santorum! As if being "conservative" means measuring up to the standards of a "crazed extremist fundie religious nut evangelical".

He is sooooo out of touch with the conservatism of tomorrow it's not even funny.

I'd vote any liberal in over him. Social conservatives are worse than liberals because not only do they expand government in a theocratic way but they then push to take away social freedoms from the people! It's a lose lose! At least with a leftwing liberal I'd get some social acceptances!

    Catfish that's tacky.

I'm pretty happy that conservatives are critical of aspects of their own party, just as I am happy liberals do the same about THEIR own party, some of whom would enjoy booting some of their own leaders straight into next week.

The fact that Mock started such a topic means that conservative guys on RJ can relax and show us some depth to their party and to their personal beliefs.

We have some conservative friends on here, and we'd rather know about what interests or troubles them politically within their party rather than an opposing political view that makes them into some kind of cartoon, which they are not.

So hush, I'm getting an education here, and getting to know some I consider interesting people a little better.

You might have noticed yesterday a very spirited discussion of Ron Paul both in this folder and the All Things Gay folder. As far as the diversions go, the great majority of us ignore that in almost all cases, so it really doesn't matter.

Hmmm..well the only way to allow conservative RJ men to feel comfortable is to allow them open self reflection without being sniped at. Ditto for liberals.

Nice of you to say, but sniping really doesn't matter when a sniper has only blanks to shoot. But I will add that aside from the less than half-dozen snipers - include the extreme one - I think some of us prefer to discuss some political issues away from this site.

Catfish, they are not a conservaposse. We know some of them on another site and some are also FB friends. They are as individual as you and I. This topic shows it.

^^^^^ THIS ^^^^^ I appreciate these words MIL. It gets very aggravating having a different opinion on some issues, most of which have absolutely NOTHING to do with "Gay" anything, and yet because of those opinions we get labeled "self-loathing" or "anti-gay" or a host of other names when, in reality, when it comes to "gay issues" most of us want the very same thing --- even though they may be a higher priority to some of us than others --- and that's okay. We should be allowed to have our own set of personal priorities that fit our own particular lives, and not be criticized for this just because they are different than someone elses.

One thing Santorum should probably NOT be doing is attempting to throw Chris Christie under the bus because Chris Christie will bury Santorum with a few choicely worded sentences faster than Santorum can Google his own name only to find...

    Santorum
    spreadingsantorum.com/
Santorum 1. The frothy mix of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the byproduct of anal sex. 2. Senator Rick Santorum.

I will do something bold and use a hockey analogy to Canadians. I have always assumed that the enforcers or fighters were the players who could fight but lacked the hockey skills of others. Similarly, I think the snipers to varying degrees do not engage in much logic and for the most part bring nothing to the table but still are desperate to take part, so they do all they are able to. Furthermore I have noticed that very often those who use the terms "self-loathing" or "self-hating" have away from political threads discussed their mental problems and therapy. I think in general those who use such terms are fairly unbalanced themselves.

Oh, ugh. I disagree there, because there are plenty of conservatives that have the same emotional issues, which are human and pandemographic. Mental illness does not auto-equal less intelligence.

lol, there are plenty of self loathing and self hating gays of all political stripes, and straight ones as well.

Here's one; a straight lady we know is self hating and self loathing. Her mother taught her that only bad girls enjoy sex. She's now in her fifties and in therapy.

Im not surprised by the last minute Santorum surge.
It's just more evidence of the fact that even many Repubs recognize what a weak flawed candidate Romney is.

    Poor Mitt.
    Nobody likes him!

Catfish, there are hundreds of profiles on RJ with only torsos displayed.

Now you and SB run along and kick sand at each other somewhere else.

The adults are discussing important things here.

I didn't say there are no conservatives with issues, but I was only referring to the very specific far left who use those terms.

Don't believe the polls. Santorum will never be the nominee. Will you be video-taping your Election night meltdown?

We really have to look to ourselves and ask, did we complete X years of education or pursue other achievements and allow ourselves to associate with certain people.
